This is a one-of a kind old hotel in the center of Stenungsund, the rooms are small and quirky, not soundproof (you can hear snoring through the wall), but my room has a small balcony, a weird but fun bathroom sunken down a few steps, and the breakfast was great. It is tight with space, but cozy and old-fashioned Swedish way. I love it, but it will not be for people that want modern fancy. This is historical instead.

We arrived late and the dining room was just closing The waitress and the chef offered a main course and a desert they could make quickly and it was very good. They were both very young and we found out later that they had just started 4 days earlier, and dealt with us in a very positive manner with no senior staff on duty at the time. The bedroom was very cosy and the bathroom had everything we needed. We would stay there again.

For the early risers.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The price we paid through Hotels.com was fair and it was easy to add an extra night when we decided to stay an extra day in the area. The room was an ok size, clean, very little storage space but a big comfortable bed and bath room with shower. The room was clean All the staff we met were polite and helpful. Things that could be improved… The rooms could do with a refresh. The bathroom did seem old and tired and the water pressure in the shower was not up to normal Swedish power. It would be great to have better cooling in the rooms as having the windows open was not a good idea. The buffet breakfast was well stocked. The quality of the bread and cold buffet were excellent. The hot food was ok, let down by hard fried eggs and ’scrambled eggs’ that like many hotels was watery. The major disappointment was the noise in the mornings. Our room was by the staff entrance. With having to have the windows open any coming, going or delivery meant some sort of noise. The collection of empty glass bottles early on Monday morning being a highlight. The hotel is great if you are a very early riser who doesn’t like eggs. Other than that it is a basic reasonably priced place to stay. Would we go back? Not sure about this one.

Central location and fairly priced.

Good and cozy hotel in centre of Stenungssund. Rooms are a bit worn down and could do with a minor make over. When that is said the price is fair and breaks fast quite good. Their restaurant is supposedly quite good also, even though I have not tried my self.

Ein super gut gepflegtes Haus. So stelle ich mir ein typisch schwedisches Hotel vor. Nichts für diejenigen, die die nüchterne Sachlichkeit neuer Hotelketten bevorzugen. Es war toll. Vielen Dank! Und das Frühstück ist wirklich, wie schon oft beschrieben, außergewöhnlich gut.

Vores besøg var fra torsdag den 18/6 til mandag den 22/6. Altså henover svenskernes midsommer fest den 19/6. Derfor var restauranten lukket hver aften den 19, 20 og 21/6. Det var til stor ærgrelse for os, da vi hver aften måtte købe noget mad ude i byen, hvor der også var mere eller mindre lukket ned. Desværre blev vi ikke orienteret om deres lukning af restauranten af personalet, der tilsyneladende gik ud fra, at denne “tradition” er kendt af alle deres udenlandske gæster. Vi blev bekendt med gæster fra Letland, der også blev fanget af denne nedlukning.

Parkeringssituationen var katastrof. Personalen hänvisade till platser som inte kunde användas och var inte förstående. Fanns inte p-plats för alla boende. Mycket trångt och otillgängligt på gården och till matsalen. Funktionshindrade kan ej använda detta hotell. Hundtillägg var 300:- och då fanns inte vattenskål eller säng att tillgå, vilket är vanligt på andra hotell. TV-kanalerna var mycket begränsade, fick använda privat inloggning för att se annat än kanal 1 och 2.
