"I quite like this hotel and it's one of the better hotels in the Merced area. My only issue is that it is quite loud on the M Street side because the train is in the vicinity, which runs until very late. The other problem that they cannot control is the health food/juice bar (also the M Street side) that blasts music all day starting at 9 a.m. Book yourself a room on the alley side, or quiet side. One of the best features of El Capitan is it has a nice coffee bar downstairs that also serves snacks. Their staff is very friendly, too. I also love the filtered water and ice station on the 3rd floor. If you're a big water drinker, this is a marvelous amenity."

"Very pleasant staff from the time you are getting checked in, to the restaurant, and everything in between. Pool area is nice. Restaurant is delicious! I would recommend this place to a friend. "

"Kitchen fully stocked. The lady in the kitchen who wore a pink tshirt i can not remeber her name but she went above and beyond in her service! Your hotel should be very proud to have someone like her. "

"It was very nice! Good Breakfast each day. Coffee was great!! Clean room and quiet and peaceful! Staff friendly and very helpful. Check in was fine. Elevators worked well and cards to get in your room. On other side of hotel is a Save Mart, Subway sandwiches, great Mexican restaurant and Denny’s! Starbucks too!!! Great location. "
