"We stayed Memorial Day evening. We booked the hotel for the pool (with two little kids) and it was closed. Checkin wasn't the most helpful. We then came down for continental breakfast that we were told cost $12/person. Just too many things that weren't great, wish we would've booked elsewhere."
"Breakfast was well done, the room temperature was comfortable, and there was no noise during the night. The beds were some what uncomfortable, but overall the room was acceptable. We were staying only one night and left right away in the morning for Special Olympics State track which was at Iowa's University. I really liked the closeness to the field."
"We usually come to this property 3 times a year. It was purchased by a very nice man. Even the employees said he was super nice. As a regular, the transition seemed seamless. Same employees, same great, caring customer service. The breakfast is pretty good too. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. Great pillows and towels. Sad they got rid of the hot tub."
"This is a good hotel I've stayed at before. The location is great, the rooms are nice, and I ordinarily would give it all 5s. But there are some things hotel management needs to address. First, the lobby should be clean. But it is not being cleaned regularly if at all. The floor in the lobby seating area is not swept - there are crumbs and scraps of paper all over the floor. Food scraps and cup rings on the tables are not cleaned up day after day. Second, one thing I expect from a hotel in this category is decent coffee. But this hotel is completely indifferent about that. The only coffee available (outside the nasty little coffee makers in the rooms) is a single instant coffee machine in the dining area, which makes some of the worst coffee I've tasted outside of a 1980s gas station. If I had to guess, I would say they have some indifferent management and this needs to be addressed if they want people to stay there outside of football season."
