"Beautiful hotel, but unfortunately the experience left me feeling really uncomfortable.
About 30 minutes after checking in, a hotel staff member attempted to enter my room without warning. Thankfully I had the latch closed, but I was already settled into the room and on a work meeting when it happened. Regardless of what I was doing, having someone try to enter an occupied room unexpectedly is completely inappropriate and honestly made me uneasy for the rest of my stay. I reported it to the front desk shortly after and was given a complimentary drink coupon, but the situation itself was never really addressed in a meaningful way.
The other major disappointment was the food. The restaurant service staff were kind and attentive, but the food itself was genuinely poor. My meal was dry, overcooked, and not enjoyable. I brought it to the attention of the restaurant manager at the time, but nothing was done. Later, the hotel offered to send up an alternate room service item instead. Unfortunately, that was somehow even worse. The vegetables looked dried out and old, ingredients listed on the menu were missing, and the entire plate looked unappetizing and poorly prepared.
It’s unfortunate because the hotel itself is beautiful, but between the room privacy issue and the disappointing food experience, this stay did not meet expectations."
"Bruce, the owner, was amazingly helpful and has done an exceptionally inspirational renovation of the building; we also toured the 1 and 2 bedroom suites. Easy access to all the theatres and restaurants in Stratford. Highly recommended"
"Clean hotel, comfortable rooms, and great breakfast! A great spot for a last minute London stay that was budget friendly. We stayed with our kids. Lots of options for breakfast for them too."
"Initially, we were swt up in 515. Extremely noisy due to elevator traffic. Moved to 201. Floor had very strong smell from the moment we stepped off of the elevator to our room at the end of the hall. Our room smelled as well. Staff eventually opened the window but then it was too cold in the room, even with the heat on. Staff had to come back up to close the window. During our stay the phone rang twice. Once at 730 pm and the other at 1245 am. Both times the phone just rang once. At 1130 am on the day of checkout housekeeping was kkoxking on our door - despite having confirmed late checkout at 12 pm. While the hotel rooms are beautiful and the on-site restaurant food absolutely delicious!, we would more likely choose anither hotel to stay next time we're in Stratford."
