"Great location. On the same street that takes you to old town. Breakfast was good and clean. After 3 weeks of traveling and 4 hotels in Europe, best breakfast offered so far. I don't utilize housekeeping, so I can't speak to it. "

"Very nice room and an excellent breakfast. Room was a nice size after switching from the double room to the junior suite I had reserved. There was push back to my move request but I showed my Expedia reservation and they honored the request for the move. The hotel was fully booked. After the initial room change discussion, the service was very good and they apologized for the problem & wanted to make sure we were happy. They handled reservations for us well to a concert at the palace. I would definitely stay there again. "

"Cool hotel, next to the bus and train station so good transport connections and walkable to town/old town. Staff friendly and helpful & the hotel was clean and well presented with lots of lovely plants. The room was fine though placement of plug sockets a little strange - half way up the walls with no shelf to place items on to charge or difficult to reach in small cubbyhole next the bed. No tea/coffee making facilities in room but kettles were available to use in the lobby. Would recommend. "

"If you are taking the ferry to Hallstatt, you get off the boat right in front of the hotel, very convenient. Hallstatt is not very big, but the hotel is pretty much in the middle of the town. The staff at the hotel is fantastic. The front desk staff has been super friendly and helpful and goes out of the way to help guests. We booked a superior double room with lake view, and from tips online i read that the same room type can be very different. Apparently you want to request the room at House Kainz and make sure the balcony can fit a table and chairs. It was nice to have a drink on the balcony looking at the lake. The only downside was that the restaurant wasn't that great. My husband was asked to changed out of his shorts before we can enter, which was annoying. I understand dress code but tbh, the restaurant isn't even that fancy. We have gone to fancier restaurants and they are fine with us wearing shorts, especially if we are tourists on vacation. The food was decent. There is not a lot of restaurant choices in town though, esp on a Monday, so make sure you make reservations if there are other restaurants you'd like to go to"
