"Gorgeous modern hotel with helpful staff and lovely rooms. The sea view was lovely as was the balcony.
Really good location and a 25 min walk to the famous beach along a shaded promenade.
Hotel is a 30 min drive from the main port in the North."
"This was not an expensive apartment, so we did not expect 5 star, but this was not good value. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the apartment was clean, and there was easy access to the sea.
However there was no access to the dining room balcony, as there was a massive sofa placed at the window. So no breakfast outside for me. There was a bedroom balcony, but I get up early, and my husband needs more sleep. We could not use the bedroom mirror as a large tv was placed in front. We asked for either the mirror or the tv to be moved . The receptionist said she would ask but 'was not sure this could be done'. Nothing was moved.
The freezer compartment in the fridge had no door, so defrosting water dripped on to bottom of the fridge.
Check in was perfunctory. The site is very large and we were not given any information about getting about . We had arrived on a public holiday, so we were told that the restaurant on site was closed, We were not told that restaurants next to hotel were all open. We were told that we would be taken to our room by buggy. However, a staff member arrived, took our large suitcase, and we had to follow on foot with other luggage. This took about ten minutes, as the chap was unsure of how to find our place.
Towels had to be hired, there was a charge for the key for the room safe, and we could not buy bottled water at the hotel.
Brac itself was wonderful. Even Watermans could not spoil that."
"Beautiful new hotel (c.2021) with ocean views. The hotel is on a small peninsula so effectively sea-facing on three sides.
The lobby has real wow-factor with panoramic ocean view.
Rooms are large and nicely furnished. Extra pillows in the closet, good availability of power points, easily controlled lighting.
The restaurant is large and has indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast and dinner buffets are good quality. Lunch options were limited to pizza during my stay. But the quality was good.
There are two outdoor pools (plus the sea). There is a small indoor pool area.
The village is small and centres around the harbour, about 300 metres from the hotel. There are 5-6 cafes / restaurants here.
Parking is available on site at daily rates (at time of visit, EUR 10 uncovered or EUR 15 covered). Alternatively, a free car park is about 300 metres away."
"Overall we had a wonderful stay at Valamar Amicor Resort and would be keen to return. The facilities are great and our children particularly enjoyed the variety of age-appropriate water slides and pool toys. Staff were helpful and considerate, particularly at check-in when we were invited to leave our bags and be escorted to dinner as it was late and approaching closing time. Food was sufficiently varied and of a high standard for buffet style; we never struggled for something to eat.
Housekeeping seemed to vary throughout the week, sometimes excellent and sometimes a little sub-par. For example, on some days waste/recycling bins in our room were not emptied; on another, the bath mat was taken but not replaced so we had to improvise with a hand towel. The coffee machine in the room was also hit-and-miss; I think it needs replacing. At breakfast, the availability of barista-style coffee was inconsistent, with some waiting staff offering this proactively and some seemingly reluctant to do so.
If you venture further (e.g. to the beach), there are some rather dilapidated buildings around which either need demolishing or redeveloping (I believe Valamar are planning to do so). For the horror buff, the beach near Arkana (next door hotel) features an abandoned coffee kiosk that looks like a post-apocalyptic movie set."
"We really enjoyed our 4 nights and 5 day stay at this hotel the food was amazing we had the half board option and our 3 children enjoyed the selection of food every morning and every evening. The hotel is very well situated, it’s just perfect! with plenty of gorgeous views of the sea and such a lovely walk to the harbour one way then to the beach the other way. The reception, bar & restaurant staff were lovely and we can’t fault it we found it very relaxing stay after 4 days in split, just perfect! We would definitely recommend oh and the pool was perfect too very shallow so children could play safely too whilst parents sunbathe without a worry . We will definitely stay again!"
