The room was outstanding, excellent amenities, such lovely hosts and a beautiful little trip away ☺️
A beautiful spot in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to rest and relax. Thanks Jack for the excellent tips about fabulous local restaurants, 5 minutes from the spectacular Kondallila Falls, a wonderful walk
Beautiful part of the world. Lovely accomodation amongst the rainforest. Secluded and quiet. Jack and Lana are very welcoming hosts. Only 5 mins drive from town.
At first glance the cottage looked amazing but the more time you spend there the more problems we noticed. No screens on any windows or doors meant we couldn't open anything to let in fresh air without also letting in the bugs. The first night we killed around 70 spiders, and ended up choking on bug spray.
The shower room is a little too small as it was hard to move without hitting into something, additionally, the shower door had to be handled carefully as they almost fell out of the tracks every time you opened or closed them.
The 'self serve breakfast from 4am' i felt was mis-leading too. Instead of a service being provided from 4am, there was breakfast items in the fridge for us to cook ourselves. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice touch, however i just felt mis-lead by the advertising. While it had its ups and downs the staff were lovely and any issues we had they were happy to help at any time of day. It was also nice to get away from the city noise and not too far from a lot of amazing things to do!
What a wonderful weekend away for our anniversary, the seclusion where this property is, the warm welcome from Jack as we arrived to check in, to the secluded path to get to our Gumnut cabin was just magnificent. Peace and quiet was the first thing we noticed, lovely food stocked up in the fridge, coffee machine, gentle music playing. What a beautiful cottage, we stayed 2nights and had a relaxing fantastic time away from the world. The couples massage by Marnie and Amanda recommended by Jack was truly amazing, in the comfort of our cottage too. All in all, if peace and quiet, rest and relaxation are on the menu for you, give Jack a call and leave the rest to him. Thank you Jack and Lana, we had a fantastic weekend. Cheers Rick and Melissa.

Relaxing but needs a clean
We stayed here a few years ago and decided to revisit. The location is great, set into the rainforest, not too close to others, and overall we had a relaxing stay. However, the cabin really needs a clean. There was mould on some of the glasses, mugs and plates, as well as one of the cushions and a little in the bathroom. Thick layers of cobwebs around windows and air conditioner appear to have been sitting for some weeks. Dirt came out of the jets in the spa bath when used. A lot of dead bugs and dust around the plates. Maintenance is needed in the bathroom, with a leaking sink pedestal and one shower head loose so can only either sit up against the wall or facing the floor.
Hunchy Hideaway nestled 2 minutes outside of Montville is stunning and a wonderful place to stay. The cottages are immaculate and the attention to detail by the owners is lovely. They left breakfast options for us to use and the surrounds are nice and quiet and the sounds of the rainforest make you feel so relaxed. Close to the surrounds of Montville and Maleny and so many places to explore. Highly recommend Hunchy Hideaway if you are after a romantic getaway with your loved one.
Loved the rainforest setting, open fire and spa bath. The owner/manager was very helpful & available at any time. The property was located between Montville & Maleny with their restaurants, shops, galleries and cafes so plenty to see and do.
It was an amazing ng stay.
Great host, wonderful welcoming and very generous.
Loved our hideaway cabinet.
It is exactly like the photos even better.
Definitely will go back and will stay even longer than only a few days.
Our stay was amazing, the cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay, Jess who greeted us was so lovey and was super helpful and made sure we felt very welcome and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. We will differently will be back
On arrival at the accommodation, there was no wifi in the cabin, there were no hangers in the wardrobe, cobweb inside and outside the cabin.
Unlikely to stay here again.
