The room is huge (with a large, modern bathroom), and the house has a stocked game room with pool, ping pong, foosball, and more plus a giant chessboard outside. "Very special place 30 or so minutes outside of Kandy, near Wattegama. The walk around the spice garden and local village was so interesting. Such a unique bonus to make this more of an experience than just a bed for the night. The food we had was some of the best we ate all trip. Definitely...

"A beautifully maintained hotel in hills of Kandy overlooking the lake and town. Great Srilankan food and the rooms are fantastic. Thank you to all staff. I will return"

"I initially had some issues with this facility, with the room and bathroom cleanliness. However, management rectified it and the remainder of my stay went smoothly. Property is somewhat dated. The replacement room was orderly. Good location, staff were attentive and polite. As far as a hotel rating goes, it is about a 2-2.5 star facility. The breakfast buffet is planned based on guest nationality, when I tried it, it was mainly an Indian breakfast, but I found items I liked to eat! Lack of an elevator has to be disclosed IMO for safety of the guests and disabled guests. Food choices can be limited based on occupancy, primarily for Lunch and Dinner. There are many eateries in the city of Kandy nearby and they are easy to get to."

Madulkelle Tea and Eco Lodge

"Fantastic property and fantastic experience. We have nothing but high praise. Loved the family unit with the tent on top and separate room downstairs for the kids. Here’s a word of warning though regarding getting there….its not an easy ride up from the village on a very narrow very poorly maintained road. Not for the faint hearted. It also takes a good 30 minutes especially if you need to use the tuk tuks to get up."
