Hiroshima Washington Hotel

"The 193 sq ft room is very small for two people, considering western standards. For example, there is very little room to even open up two suitcases. This is not a room to spend much time in, except for sleeping. That being said, location, location, location. It is easy walking distance to most everything in central Hiroshima. Restaurants and bars, including the famous 5-floor okonomiyaki building, are literally just steps away (less than a minute walk). One could even walk to the train station if so inclined (maybe about 25 minutes). The breakfast has varied choices, but it is only so-so by Japanese standards. It is also small, so there could be difficulties getting a table if too many people are trying to eat at the same time. We would stay here again, but probably would spring for a larger room."

"The room was clean. We had a twin corner room. It was large enough to get our packing cubes out & store the suitcases next to the cabinet. Better lay out than some other hotels we have stayed in. Thankyou for having hooks to hang things on. The beds were comfortable. I would like to have a top sheet separate to the duvet as I like fresh air rather than aircon but the duvet was too hot. It was great having the laundry. The staff were nice & smiley. Great location to walk to Peace Park or shopping streets or dinner options."

"The room was clean and well-maintained, but unfortunately, the bed was firm and a little uncomfortable. As someone with a slightly larger build, I found that the approximately 2-inch foam mattress provided very little cushioning or support. I actually had to arrange all the pillows on the bed to create enough cushioning to sleep comfortably. This is the main reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. During this same trip, I stayed at another APA Hotel in Osaka and had a wonderful experience without any issues with the bed. Overall, the stay was good, but I wish the mattress had been more comfortable, especially after long days of walking and exploring Hiroshima."
