The staff is very nice even though they can't speak English well Basic accommodation for stop-over night The downside is the onsen ( the corner pool) smell of chlorine too much.

Sounkyo Kanko Hotel
The location was lovely and the onsen and outdoor otaru baths were totally worth the trip! The buffet breakfast had a ton of options and was tasty. Our family room was a very tight squeeze for 4 people, but otherwise fine. We had limited interactions with the staff, but they were helpful and accommodating ...
