The property and staff are fantastic. This is an adult only property and when we went there, it seemed like the majority of the guests were 65 and over. Mostly people from Europe when we stayed there. This is a property if you want peace and relaxation without a lot of noise. If you would like a younger crowd, this property might not be your choice.

We had a wonderful stay here! We were upgraded to an oceanfront room that was fabulous! The room had a wonderful patio with table chairs, two lounge chairs with umbrella and literally steps to the beautiful uncrowded sandy warm water beach! The property is beautifully landscaped and clean. The pools are wonderful. The staff is friendly. The food was great, offering both local Thai food as well as many other options. Very peaceful and relaxing! Wonderful place!

We had a lovely bungalow near pond, it was very clean spacious bed was very comfy. Clean pool towels delivered every evening. Area was quiet and well kept.

Reception and Service Staffs are excellent. We've got upgraded to a bungalow on our 2nd day due to a broken mirror in our standard room. The staffs were very helpful and courteous.

The best qualities of this resort are its staff. Attentive, professional and engaging staff who did their utmost to practice their English and ensure their customers were content. Rooms were very clean and welcoming with daily servicing. The clientele were mainly Europeans. The breakfast buffet was a highlight on arrival and we were spoilt with an upgrade to a spacious beach bungalow for our wedding anniversary. Few steps to negotiate for older clients. Lovely sandy beach and fitness options in hotel and pool aerobics daily. 4 pools all beautifully maintained. A well organised transport/taxi service to take you to the many surrounding markets, waterfalls, beaches and National parks. We will definitely be back!

Nice but not for us
We had a grand deluxe room in the mountain wing. The room was very nicely fitted out, clean and comfortable. Ensuit had all you needed and a lovely shower. Our balcony looked out to see through the tree line and was private and quiet. Breakfast was what you would expect with a variety of food options. From 7am to 10am we tried all times but never found a quiet time. The hotels location is a short walk to all the shops and eateries which is handy. However although nothing tangeable the grounds, pools and beach were not for us. It all seemed a little tight. So we used our room had breakfast then headed out on a sooter everyday. That we really enjoyed.

Beautiful location- fab hotel right on the beach - had a room quite high up, which was lovely, but paid extra for a beach bungalow which was well worth the extra. Staff super friendly - perfect location - had a hire car and went to different beaches, including White Sands, but they weren’t as nice as the beach at this hotel. Could walk for miles up the coast. Would consider coming here again. Top marks for this hotel .

We had a lovely stay at the Sensimar Khoalak Beachfront. The car service was waiting for us at Phuket and took us straight there. The Staff was great, the food was great and the location perfect for beach walks, swimming or heading to town.

This resort is fantastic. We booked an extra few nights on top of a deal. All the staff are so friendly and are always smiling. The many swimming pools are a great place to cool off. Great selection at breakfast, could chose something different each day if we wanted. This is our second stay at this resort and would definitely stay again

Top hotel.
We have stayed in 4 hotels in Khao Lak and for us the Sensimar was the best. It was clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious with good storage and a full sized fridge. The shower and toilet were separate. The bed was huge and pretty comfortable. The a/c was brilliant. We went for half board as the deal was so good through hotels.com. The food was amazing. A great variety of foods for all tastes. The staff never stop smiling. They take a real interest in the guests. I would recommend this hotel.

I have booked this hotel because it offered airport suttle. However when I landed I found out that there was a charge to get the suttle service. I ended up spending extra $100 on transportation between airport and hotel and back. Felted cheated but had no choice but had to spend the $ to get there.

Good, lacking a little polish
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well maintained and the location is good, a short walk into town. The only let down for me was the room, the beds weren't very comfortable and the air con unit is right above the bed, I don't like freezing cold air blowing on me while I sleep, and the room got too stuffy if it wasn't on. We had a room in the mountain wing and it was a nice view, the doors to these rooms are impossible to close quietly, so the sound of doors slamming all the time gets annoying. would be good if management put soft close hinges on these to improve peacefulness. Would also be good if housekeeping staff were told to be a little quieter when moving around the corridors, they tend to yell to each other and have loud conversations which echo, sounds like they are arguing but it is really just chatter.

We were pleasantly surprised with Khao Lak & with Sensimar. If you want a quiet place where you could just let your mind wonder & appreciate life away from the hustle & bustle of daily routine, Khao Lak is the ideal spot. A small town with few shops & very little night life. And Sensimar Khao Lak is the right hotel. Being adult only, with modern facilities, very warm & welcoming staff, we were treated to quietness, kindness, cleanliness & good amenities. Some people go on holidays expecting perfection (not possible) & so their expectations are never met even if the hotel or location tried very hard. However, if you are looking for a peaceful holiday, willing to put up with very minor inconveniences, like the English not perfectly spoken or some minor hiccups in the facilities or service, but you want peace, laughter, warmth, support, sensible prices & good food, then the Sensimar is for you. The hotel is located at the beginning of the town strip, and is about 10 minutes walk to Khao Lak town centre, where a good selection of eateries, supermarkets, souvenir shops, money changers & small bars are. The town is welcoming & there is still an innocence about Khao Lak that Phuket, Koh Samui & other like holiday spots have lost. Definitely not a place filled with vendors & thriving night life. Try the Sun Star Siam Restaurant just directly across the hotel for good outside food. And a must is the ACOUSTIC Bar which has great live (superb guitar) music and run by a friendly family.

Beautiful Setting
It was a very special anniversary for us and these lovely people went over and above to make it a most memorable stay from the time we arrived. Close to town where you can walk, or they have shared transportation which came in handy on occasion. We went to a few reviewed "most beautiful beaches", but honestly the one at Sensimar was even nicer. Has to be the best beach in the area. The most beautiful clear water, soft velvet sand along with lots of shade trees which made it very pleasant. I was able to do some snorkeling there, which was a nice surprise. Had lunch and one dinner and found the food to be very good and reasonable in case you don't feel like leaving the hotel. Good breakfast as well. Can't wait to return!

Great Beach, hotel grounds and surroundings.
Very pleased with my first time experience in Khaolak. I would go back and stay at the same hotel. I was impressed with the beach areas around the hotel. Great for walks, pictures and swimming. There were not many people at the resort (visited April 2018) which I liked and also no children. I liked that. Although I cannot say what it would be like in high season.

We loved everything about our stay here. We started with a beautiful welcoming for our anniversary. Thank you Jennifer. Ideal location right in the beach. We loved the rocky area that others have not spoken about positively. Swimming here was great. Staff were awesome, gardens beautiful, breakfast eating area stunning and the food selection was great. rooms were lovely as were the pool areas. Thanks to kukai on tour desk who went above and beyond assisting us renting a car. Fabulous selection of cheap, lovely, great food and cocktails right out the front. walking distance the town and short ride to great night markets, I preferred build market. We loved it here and much better value than Phuket.

Relaxing vacation
We felt the hotel catered for all of needs, environment, location, surroundings, atmosphere. The hotel had everything you require for a relaxing vacation. The Main Street is only a five minute walk to restaurants and shops in the evening so you don’t feel isolated in your hotel. The rooms were spacious albeit the grand deluxe is up a mountain. The cheaper rooms are ground level and located by the pool. If I was to return I would choose the latter. All in all a great vacation 😎

Stayed here for 3 nights Dec 2017 in a Grand Deluxe room. Very nice, quiet, Adults Only hotel. This and the hotels either side of it are on the nicest bit of this stretch of beach. Rooms are at different levels so some require walking up/downhill. The pool facing rooms are at ground level. There are a couple of very nice pools. Our room was about 50 stairs up, but easily manageable and also meant we had a nice view of the beach. Room was a good size with good air con. We ate at the hotel two nights, once at the beachside cafe type restaurant which was very nice and once at the main beachfront restaurant for the Seafood Buffet night which was amazing. It's only a short walk along the road to many other restaurants/shopping. It seems this hotel suits older guests who like quiet. There are lots of lounges dotted along the beach, and the hotel actively discourages people from 'saving' them early in the morning which is good.
