"the rooms were large and the floors clean, refrigerator was small but uesable.
Breakfast was usual items, it was good but I like bacon better than sausage
staff were friendly but it would have speeded up check in if two people
were working the desk. I didn't use pool, but it look clean (outside)
Parking was in a gated lot the fence needs some repain in places."
"Montara, at reception, was super helpful and very sweet. The 1st room we were assigned to was for handicap on the first floor (which we’re not) and the smell was overwhelmingly musty.
We stayed on the third floor,
Montara did say the hotel was bought out by Marriott and renovations would be starting very soon. The hotel is in great need of repair…the sprinkler head in the bathroom was completely rusted, as was some broken tile on top of the shower wall and the popcorn ceiling had cracks in it over the bed. Water damage was very noticeable in the lobby ceilings and there was a slight odor when we entered the hotel.
Air conditioning worked perfectly, bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows! Breakfast was underwhelming… the cheese wasn’t melted inside the omelets, the pork sausage didn’t taste very good, they did have potatoes and waffles, but seemed low on the amount of food available.
The location is terrific, near lots of restaurants, Hobby Lobby, Lowes, grocery stores. "
"It was a beautiful old Southern home. Our room was very poorly lighted and difficult to see things in the dim bathroom. The room had a musty odor also but was very clean. Our beds were comfortable and amenities were nice. Bed linens felt luxurious.
We were a bit disappointed in the included breakfast. It consisted of lukewarm scrambled eggs that tasted like powdered eggs. Some fresh fruit and a few pieces of danish as well as cold cereals and some breads for toasting. I expected something more homemade and southern in this space.
Overall it was a lovely setting with interesting furniture and decor. The staff was polite and friendly."
