The check in was horrible- although my roommate was on her way, in order to check in I had to give a full $866 payment because you have to pay for the room immediately upon check in, otherwise they will not give you a key! Although the desk agent said that she was just holding that money on the card, it actually charged the card for that amount, though she claimed it wouldn't do that.
When my roommate and I settled the bill, we both gave our own credit cards for half the amount each, and I asked for a receipt showing that my original $866 had been credited back to my account. I was told that she could not give me a receipt showing the amount had been credited?! So I guess I just have to hope that money gets returned to my bank account with no questions asked since I have no proof the amount was credited back!??! What kind of way is that to run a hotel?!!
Then they pop the parking cost on you out of the blue with no expectations that there was a parking cost! Although the hotel sits in the middle of a very large parking lot, the hotel has nothing to do with the lot and claims it is owned by the city. So now you are required to pay $25 a night to park your car at the hotel, whereas I do not remember seeing any mention of that in the information that was sent to me by Hotels.com, or by the Hilton Garden Inn!
The room was extremely outdated... Old carpet, old hideous color curtains, ripped lamp shade, and a very small t.v. It did appear to be clean though.
