"We had a wonderful stay at Hiro'a - Fare Orotia, and honestly, it saved our vacation. Due to some unforeseen issues with our original accommodations, we found ourselves needing a new place to stay on very short notice, as in it’s 4pm and we have no where to stay. The host called me within the hour of the booking request, kindly walked me through every detail, and let me know she was already sending her cleaning team so we could check in shortly after. True to her word, everything was spotless on arrival and check-in was seamless, exactly as she described. After a long travel day and the stress of our original booking falling through, we were so relieved to finally rest. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had wonderfully hot water, and the bedroom AC worked great, especially with the door closed to keep the cool air in. The living room fan kept airflow nice in that room also. The common areas were comfortable too, and having access to the fridge and freezer was a nice bonus. Everything throughout the space was clean and well organized. The location was also excellent, close to several restaurants and a few grocery stores, including a fantastic little pizza place just around the corner that was perfect for a quick meal after a long day. Our three night stay ended up being the perfect fit, and we both left calling it an excellent value and a truly good stay. I cannot thank the host enough for accommodating us on such short notice. Highly recommend."

"There was Wi-Fi but it was not very fast in individual rooms. The kitchen was large and clean, with every pot, pan, plate, and spoon you could want. There was an electric kettle and some basic food supplies like ground coffee, tea, sugar, and salt. The free laundry machine worked well and there was plenty of space to hang up close to dry for free. The front desk offered wide variety of tours, and we took a half day walking tour to see the nearby three waterfalls, which was safe, and very enjoyable. There was room to put your own food in storage and in a large refrigerator. The property has a couple of dogs and a cat that were nice to pet. The staff was very helpful."

"I can’t say enough about the hospitality extended to us by Michel, the proprietor. He was so kind, and really made us feel at home. The shared space in the kitchen was really fun. We enjoyed the opportunity to be to meet and talk with other guests. Come here if you want a very comfortable place to relax without the corporate polish of other resorts. Michel gave us a great restaurant recommendation: we loved dinner at the Opoa Beach restaurant, just a short drive down the road. It was one of the most delightful dining experiences I’ve ever had. While here, we snorkeled, sat on comfortable beach chairs, and could have kayaked if we had not been so busy relaxing. Merci Michel!"

"We enjoyed the place very much. Guy and Diane are very nice, courteous and accommodating. Remember this is not a hotel; it’s rather like an Airbnb and the hosts are staying at the connecting quarter during the time of your stay. During your stay, you would basically have the main house to yourself. We, a couple of 2 from CA, stayed for 4 nights here during the first leg of our 2 weeks trips in a 4 islands hoping in Tahiti. At first we were a little surprised because we expected to check into a hotel, but then realized we are entering someone’s house, but during the stay we feel at ease and learn to like the place a lot. We drove here with a rental car from the airport; Guy helped us arranged a car rental and the agency met us at the airport to drop off the car. The price is better than reservation made online through Orbitz or car rental companies directly. Google map directed us there without a problem. You park in the grass area of the front yard. WiFi is very fast. We have T-Mobile cellular so we use our allotted data when WiFi is not available. We paid for our stay directly to hotel.com during booking and paid Guy the tax and breakfast. I would say it’s better to buy whatever you want at the markets and make your own breakfast which is more to your liking because the breakfast provided is very basic! There are several supermarkets in town including super U and Carrefour. The fish are fresh and inexpensive and with the kitchen, that’s a plus. (Space limit)"

"We had a great stay at Havai'i lodge. It's a beautiful and quiet property in a cul-de-sac and the place is comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. It's shared with another room, but since we were out and about all day and only had our coffee and breakfast at the place, it wasn't a problem. We recommend having a car on Raiatea as it's much easier to get around this beautiful island. The host helped arrange a car for us, which was nice."
