"We decided to stay at this iconic hotel partly for a bit of fun as well as it's great location in Tashkent. If visiting the capital no doubt you will at least visit the property for it's history and location, adjacent to the hotel is the square,metro, restaurants and other attractions to explore. The hotel itself can be described as an older property and does need a facelift to bring it back to it's former glory, however if you fancy staying in what can be described as a piece of Soviet history then this is for you!....The staff are friendly and helpful,the rooms are spotless,however some are refurbished and some are not!....ours wasn't refurbished but we did have a balcony giving us view of the mountains in the distance,the room itself was simple and basic but good value,and kept clean.Breakfast was plentiful and the bar on the 16th floor is well worth a visit for a cold beer and admire the views,in addition the lunch menu was good and good value for money. Yes there are better hotels in Tashkent,but Hotel Uzbekistan can offer something a little different where you can say that you stayed where former world leaders stayed back in the day and just enjoy the fun element of being there!,"

"Hotel is in a beautiful building that is in a more residential area. Rooms are spacious with wood floors. Extremely comfy mattress and pillows. Coffee and water in the room. I would add body lotion to the bathroom essential mix. Small mini mart across the street.25 walk to closet metro station. Fantastic breakfast and food at the restaurant was exceptional. Restaurant manager and front desk TEAM were 10/10! Highly recommended."

"We had a great time , the hotel was extremely clean . Conveniently close to metro station although taxi is very cheap if you download the app (yandex) its even cheaper . The breakfast was amazing . Every thing was excellent."

"Service can be a little inconsistent, but most staff are very polite. We booked an apartment. It was clean, but the unit itself has a little age to it, and could do with some refreshment. No ironing board in the room. No cleaning cloth or washing detergent so you can't really cook anyway. The outdoor pool needed maintenance. The gym is very basic if you are used to big commercial gyms. They made us pay for two cups we "broke", but it was the vibration of the kettle that broke the cups. So be a little mindful if you are boiling the kettle. If the cups are stacked onto each other like a pyramid, take note to place them away from the kettle, even though the cups and kettles are already in position in a pre-cut wooden holder. They will still break. It's just 50,000 uzs but it just feels odd to charge us for something we didn't purposely break, and it was already stacked like this by the housekeeper. The hotel is away from the city centre and our travel plans were a little derailed when we tried to take a taxi on one of the days where the Samarkand Challenge was going on. The roads were blocked and we couldn't get to the city at all. Otherwise, it's still not too shabby or expensive to take a taxi back and forth."
