"The dorm was great. Air conditioned and someone to make your bed every day! The member of staff there (Melaia) was great. The shared showers and bathroom were exceptionally clean.
All the staff were wonderfully friendly and cheerful.
Ok the meal plan was expensive £60 pd but the dorm was only £16 pn. The food was restaurant quality and plentiful. And it was interesting having the 10 course Japanese dinner in their Japanese restaurant.
There were kayaks, paddle boards and a blow up slide in the sea free to use. And there was also some free activities like film night and the Fijian Tea and the inevitable kava.
The staff choir were excellent. Especially coming around to the various accommodations singing Christmas carols on Christmas morning.
The beach was clean and the sea some lovely shades of blue."
"The staff at Nanuya Island Resort is the resort’s #1 asset. They are so warm and genuine and know you by name. They take so much joy in making sure that you are happy. There are so many staff that contributed to a wonderful visit but notable are Moses, Friendly Pete, Nir, Amare, Masi, Oscar, Suli, Sarah, Mere, Marie and more! I wish that everyone wore a name tag so that I could recognize them properly.
NIR is beautiful but it is the staff that make the stay worthwhile.
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the snorkelling, fish feeding and farm tour that the resort offers. The island is easy to walk around if you want to hike. The food was different for every meal and it was very delicious. Masi told us that it was made with love and it shows. Every morning we were serenaded with the Bula song and there was always music in the evening. There was live music each night and a special choir on our final evening. It was all so special.
This resort is all about incredible staff in the middle of paradise."
"Absolutely amazing homestay! The hospitality was fabulous, with generous and delicious portions and the family was so welcoming. The views and ocean were absolutely stunning and the hike was incredible with some truly beautiful scenery. The kids were lovely to spend time with, so well-mannered and a joy to get to know. The accommodation is simple and basic, but very comfortable and excellent value for money. Overall, such a special and memorable experience. Highly recommend!"
"Amazing amenities and rooms in a lovely location, great spa/massages. One of the best restaurants on the Yasawa islands.
The only thing I would criticize is the lack of a clean water tank to refill reusable bottles. I don't want to buy plastic bottles on a small island and add to the pollution of the world."
"Absolutely wonderful. Top notch service and staff. You could feel the peide of the Fijian people here. An absolute gem. The staff knows you names upon arrival, you're greeted by a beautiful song and lunch. We stayed over Christmas and it was so lovely to have the village come in and sing and dance for us and even father Christmas came for the children of the village. We delt like true family while we stayed for our 8 days. We will be back next year!"
"Oarsman’s Bay Lodge is a magical place. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect and better than we could have ever hoped for. The staff are so warm and friendly and there was an amazing range of paid and free activities each day. We were there over Christmas day and the lunch they put on was incredible - they even managed to get turkey!
The beach is paradise on earth with the clearest water and most amazing snorkelling. We had such an amazing time here, it really is a very special place with the most hospitable staff and the sweetest resort dogs."
"Yasawa Island Resort was stunning. Our villa was amazing and right on the beach. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Great conversations We were able to witness a sea turtle laying her eggs on the beach and then in the morning see her trail back into the ocean. The air travel arranged by the resort to the property was incredible "
"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. As they mention, this is not a resort. If you are looking for fancy accommodations, this is not the place to stay. If you're looking foe somethong modest, this is a great place to stay. The staff if very friendly and the food is really good. "
