We had a ground floor poolside room which was perfect for us. The pool is lovely, clean with the outside bar. The room was clean and comfortable. A couple of small things would have been good but these didn't spoil our stay such as: the sliding wardrobe door didn't close properly because the mini fridge protruded too far forwards. The fridge door didn't open easily as the bottom of the door was below the wardrobe door runner (fridge was inside the wardrobe) so 2 hands needed to open the fridge and the wardrobe if that makes sense. Also no box of tissues in the room whereas most hotels I've stayed in do have these. Although breakfast was busy (hotel was full) there was a good choice of food and the staff were friendly. Location is perfect, about a 5-10 minute walk into town. Free parking in a car park opposite the side of the hotel next to the Respinol petrol garage. We would definitely recommend staying here. We've rebooked to stay in their Alentejo hotel next year

We loved the hotel. The staff was nice, the spa was amazing, and so was the pool. It is very central and easy to walk around Tavira from the Hotel. We also loved the breakfast. The only note is that the closets are smaller than usual and there isn’t a section for long dresses or coats.

The hotel is brilliant, it had everything we wanted. The outdoor pool was fabulous and clean with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas,. The hotel has an indoor pool, a gym, and other facilities such as sauna and spa. Overall, the hotel is clean and excellently presented, our room was spacious, we had a decent size balcony, the room cleaned daily if desired with fresh towels. Very happy with the room size and bathroom. The room had a TV and AC. We were greeted with very friendly staff daily, the breakfast buffet was amazing, the variety of food on offer was great. We would definitely recommend The Vila Gale Tavira Hotel and we stay there again.

Affordable hotel a few minutes’ walk from the heart of town. It’s more for families and golfers, although lots of retirees also stay there. The breakfast buffet is the best feature.

Although this is a large chain hotel, the condition and comforts as well as the staff made for a great stay. It is in a very walkable location close to everything including the ferry to nearby barrier islands. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. We would stay again.

We absolutely loved Vila Galé Tavira! From our amazing check-in staff to the entertainment and vibrant atmosphere right along the riverside in the heart of Tavira’s culinary delights, this property is a MUST STAY and made for a truly pleasant experience. The outdoor pool and patio area were wonderful spots to relax and soak up the sunshine by the Gilão riverfront. (The onsite gym is cozy, too, with adequate equipment to get a good sweat while on property). The experience was similar to being on a cruise ship with all of the scheduled events. The pool was incredible. You can spend all day at the pool and be entertained the entire time. We had Sangria making classes, water dance and aerobic classes. The second tier of the pool has private cabanas on a first come first serve basis. Well worth it for an afternoon siesta. The onsite gym is cozy and has adequate equipment to get a good sweat on while on property. The only thing that was not a perfect score was the breakfast. It had a lot of offerings but not as delightful as I would have preferred. I did like the fact that it was included in the price of the room though, it made mornings relaxed. All in all, I would definitely return and highly recommend it for your visit to the Algarve.
