Great pub and accommodation

Fabulous setting with wonderful views across Dartmoor. The room was on the small side but fine for a couple of nights. The breakfast and evening meals in the pub were excellent. Would definitely visit again.

Amazing! Everything was perfect! Lodges very clean an comfortable with all tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary biscuits. The view is amazing and the pub served very good food. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Perfect stay we would highly recommend it.

Cozy

The room was cozy and warm, ideal for a winter break on Dartmoor. Large shower with plenty of hot water. Only small issue was that the layout of the rooms meant we could hear neighbours showering at 11pm. Room was not serviced during our short stay - not an issue and presumably something to do with covid. Good breakfast each day. Friendly people.

Upon arrival was greeted in a lovely friendly manner. The pub although modern and recently refurbished, had managed to maintain a lovely traditional pub feel to it that many pubs have lost. People were sitting around having a quiet casual drink with friend. The room was clean, cosy and modern. Everything you needed was there, which set us up for a comfortable stay. The pub serves food in their in site restaurant for those who want a more formal feel to their evening. The was perfectly cooked just how I wanted, and there was a great selection from the menu so there was something for everyone. Breakfast again was faultless and had a selection of cereals and yogurts as well as a perfectly cooked breakfast. I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and can honestly say that I found no faults. Thank you

Mary Tavy Inn - see you again!

Enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Meals were excellent with a good choice of food and drinks. My room (Wheal Betsy) was clean and comfortable with a lovely outlook. Location was ideal for me walking on the moor.

Relaxing 3 day break

Very friendly family run pub ,good restaurant, great food , good service, good bar, great views from the pub garden , would stay here again when we return to Devon.

Quiet getaway

Very nice inn, easy to find, well located, dog (and people) friendly. Accommodation comprises comfy chalets overlooking meadows at rear. Very homely. Would certainly come back here.

Lovely all round place

Very pleasant, staff very welcoming and friendly.nicely decorated and very clean,the only thing we found is that the walls between the adjoining properties weren’t very sound proof and we got woken up by people using the shower,etc

Friendly, Warm and Clean

Rooms are in stone buildings at the back of the Inn, as I was alone I may have got the smallest which was a little austere however was warm and the double bed comfy with a good shower room. Breakfast's were the usual 'Full English' but of good quality with great and friendly service. Wi-Fi and Mobile phone signal was not good, great if you want to get away from it all! Views towards Dartmoor were fabulous and inspiring.

Thoroughly recommend.

We received a very warm welcome. The en suite rooms are in a small complex right next door to the inn. Ours was clean, comfortable and warm and the setting is outstanding. We enjoyed a delicious and reasonably priced evening meal and breakfast in a very attractive dining room. We look forward to staying here in the future and throughly recommendation this b&b to others visiting the area.

Lovely vegetarian options in the bar. Dog friendly. Nice and cosy. Easy to get to. Hosts were lovely and a very decent pub especially after trek through windy Dartmoor.

We stayed in the Smithy, which is a newly updated free-standing stone building in the courtyard. It is very nice, very clean, wood floors and a decent bathroom, possibly the nicest place we stayed in 2.5 weeks! The only fault was that the king bed was hard as a rock! I could feel springs pressing into my rib cage so I slept on my pillow. It killed the delight of having a KING bed to stretch out on... But otherwise, we slept well. So I'd say, the only possible thing they could fix would be a better mattress or a memory foam topper or something! Otherwise, we were very happy and the staff was quite delightful. There's a book describing a number of walks, and we recommend you visit the Brentnor Church, St. Michael's way up on the hill. Fantastic views!

Hidden Gem on the edge of Dartmoor

Lovely location, warm and comfortable room and above all amazing food. The owners welcomed us personally and provided excellent service throughout our two night stay. Wonderful breakfast served each morning. We stayed here for a short break, visiting nearby Dartmoor, Cothele House, Tavistock and Plymouth (for the National Firework Championships on Plymouth Hoe) We have already recommended this inn to family and friends for a short break and will definitely return one day ourselves.
