"The place is a bit dated, but overall a nice serene escape if you're looking to disconnect and relax. Staff was super polite and helpful the entire time. Upon entering our room, it was clean aside from a condom wrapper on the ledge and a used condom in the trash can which we can only assume came from staff after the room had beed cleaned. That was pretty gross and not a great start to the visit. Several of the lights in the room didn't work and the private plunge pool is not heated, but not a big deal. The toilet wouldn't flush and I found out that the mechanism was literally being held together with a gum wrapper, but was able to fix it enough to have an operable toilet. The main pool was nice, though a little dirty and also unheated. Food was very good, but kitchen hours were pretty limited which again isn't a huge deal but would've been good to know beforehand. The location is down a very bumpy dirt road and not close to anything, so it's a 25 minute drive each way to food or drinks outside the resort and you'd want an SUV or pickup if driving yourself (not as scary as you think, if you're new to Belize) as a small car would bottom out quite a bit. Overall we were pleased with the trip and found some hidden gems, but this probably isn't a place I'd recommend unless you want to stay on resort the whole time. "

"The property situated in a serene area. Rooms are clean. Our room was facing the river. Amities are all close by. Food was amazing. It was trolling to watch birds coming to the feeder when we ate breakfast next to it.River tubing was fun. The staff was so kind enough to do the camp fire at night just for our group. We had the best guide for our horse back riding. He was very knowledgeable and had the most patience to deal with inexperienced people like us. We had the best time at here! Definitely recommend "

"We weren't offered a bottle of wine, which is very discouraging since we were VIPs, and we only realized after we checked out and saw another couple being asked if they'd like one. Carlos, the security guard was great though and went above and beyond for us, very grateful for him though."

"Villa Massis is a jungle paradise! It is situated amongst giant trees and large flowering tropical plants, right next to the quiet Mopan River. The pool was beautiful to swim in and lounge around. The staff are incredibly friendly: from the owner Larry to all the support staff, they really want guests to have a good time! They are proud of what this part of Belize has to offer. Larry coordinated transport to and from the airport, and set us up with drivers and guides for tubing down the river, swimming by waterfalls, exploring Xunantunich ruins with our knowledgeable guide Luis. Just what we’d hoped for in a jungle get away!"

"Very soft bed, nice balcony room w kitchenette We made use of. Water in lobby only. Everything good enough and comfortable Any food supplies not there. So get stuff if u r cooking No coffee pot filter or paper towels. BYO. Do not be afraid of all the ruckus on the street as it does calm down and get quiet at night."

"Property is beautiful. We had a room on the beach with a plunge pool. Plunge pool is warm. We were on the bottom floor so our pool was out back with a covered deck on the front that overlooks the ocean. There are two levels above with plunge pools on the front of the property. Air conditioning is great and there’s a good breeze that comes off the ocean. Staff are wonderful. "
