Just wonderful and only 12 dollars. Spent three hours following the trail round then went for a swim in the Rio Celeste just past the entrance to the park by a bridge. Heavenly.

Just as beautiful as it looks in the guide books. Costs $12 to get in and you can pay by card, plus 2000 colones cash for the car park. Get there early as they only allow 400 people on the trail at any time so that it doesn’t get too busy. We went at 8.30 and by the time we finished the trail at 11.30, the queue was huge and the car park was full. There is no need to pay for a guide, you just follow the clearly identifiable path. After the walk you may well be hot so, if you want to swim, go to the river just past the park entrance where you can go into the cool river. One of the highlights of our month long trip.
