We had a really lovely time here. It did feel like a 4 star rather than 5. The spa and treatments were fabulous. The beach is just stunning and the hotel spotlessly clean. Waiting staff were always polite, helpful and attentive. Sunbeds were available and the pool was lovely. Breakfast was adequate with a variety of breads & pastries, fresh cooked eggs good but accompanying hot foods and fruit selection were disappointing compared to other 5 stars we have stayed in. Our room was very spacious and comfortable / a little shaded due to trees outside our balcony but this was not a problem for us.

Lovely theming! The grounds need a rethink - replace worn grass in high foot traffic areas with paving so that guests don’t end up with dirty feet, dirty sun lounges and dirty pool towels. Have a pool side towel service. Provide more sun lounges. The breakfast area was crowded and busy and breakfast was average. The restaurants however were good. Pizza at Sunnee Terrace was amazing. Not enough water provided for our room for 3 people for 24 hours so we always had to buy more. Gym and pool were great. Once we understood that you had to get up early to reserve pool lounges (even though the sign said it was not allowed) we got into the groove and enjoyed our stay.

Not a five star hotel

The hotel is located on a fantastic beach and appears to be the highest ranked hotel there. However, I would not say it’s more than a strong three or a week four than a five star hotel as they claim. Very friendly staff, but housekeeping is poor and my bed linen was torn and was never changed during a 9 night stay. The cleaning often took place late in the afternoon (between 4-5 pm) which was late given that it often rained during the afternoon and you then couldn’t access your room. The room was very dusty and I never saw a vacuum cleaner. There was a constant drainage in the shower. The pool area is way too small for the size of the hotel and by 7.30 am, all the sunbeds are taken by people that leaves the towels and come back a few hours later. Management doesn’t do anything about it. The hotel is very family oriented and kids are all over the pool playing the entire days, so great spot for families, but if you travel without kids you should be aware of this and chose another hotel if you want a more peaceful holiday. Breakfast was average and nothing special compared to other larger hotels in Thailand. Check out was very smooth and you were offered a shower room when a late check out wasn’t possible. There are a lot of smaller amazing restaurants on the beach if you turn left from the hotel. Our two favourites was Nicks and Friends, don’t miss out!

The pool and the beach are nice but otherwise this resort is very disappointing! 1) there’s an intermittent sewage smell around the property 2) It’s very remote, so even Bolt and grab dont go there … 3) they try to be « high-end »with spa menu prices that compete with the Ritz but the facilities are very ordinary… and they didn’t have any availability for the duration of my stay !!! There’s about a dozen spa’s five minutes from the resort …(that are 6 times cheaper)… they should make some kind of partnership and hire a few of their resources when need be !! 4) they don’t have luggage racks in the rooms (!!!) there’s space for it but it’s not something they provide! For the price, you would think they would be a lot better equipped! 5) the waiters at the pool bar, seemed to be exhausted and were not smiling nor friendly… first time that I see that in Thailand ! I liked the pineapple theme in my room… that was nice… I would not stay there again … i’m sure you can find something better for that price!!!

Not near to 5 stars

The hotel is on a steep hill, not suitable for elderly or physically challenged people due to the innumerable stairs. We were given a room not as booked (two single beds) but with one double bed. The room was damp and had a mouldy smell. The bath room is very narrow and insufficiently separated from the living quarter by two flipping wooden doors, not allowing proper privacy. The sanitary faucets are in brown cooper and resembled from the 60ties. Unfortunately, the narrowness of the bath room is not making it an inviting place. There are no racks for the luggage, so suitcases have to be put on the floor. The curtains were too long and dirty on the bottom part touching the floor. I sprayed the room with with my own insecticide and found a dead cockroach. We changed into a more suitable room the next morning, with two single beds. The furniture on the balcony was in a dire state. The breakfast buffet is well garnished but served exclusively in a non airconditioned area. The price for food and beverages is overpriced. Luckily there are two beach restaurants just nearby. The beach is ideal for non swimmers and clean. However there are insufficient sun beds and the matrasses are not cleaned when someone is leaving. Internet worked well, even on the beach. Some restaurants and small supermarkets are in walking distance offering local food and beverages. There are better places to stay in Khao Lak..

Good stay

Good stay ! The rooms are cute and cozy ! The pool is nice We found the restaurant a little too expensive for the quality of the food. The pool is quite crowded and it's hard to find a spot it's a big resort vibe very crowded, but still cute resort right in front of the beach :)
