"It was a nice place and clean until we pulled the sofa bed out and it was dirty, a quick hover wouldn't have done it any harm. Overall its a nice place to stay, we did try and phone the numbers given to inform of the condition of the sofa bed however not one number was answered, we ended up getting the caretaker, who was 100% helpful"

"A Proper Pub Stay – Full of Character If you want the sort of polished luxury offered by a high-end hotel, then this charming local pub with three letting rooms probably isn’t for you. However, you’d be missing a trick. This traditional inn positively oozes charm, character and genuine hospitality, the sort of warmth and friendliness that often seems to be missing from everyday life nowadays. When I arrived at around 6pm, the car park already had a healthy number of vehicles in it. Note to self: one box already ticked. The weather was lovely and there were several people outside enjoying the evening sunshine. Walking into the bar, I was greeted by a group of men of various ages gathered around the bar, all engaged in good-natured banter and laughter. It was genuinely heartening to see such cross-generational, wholesome camaraderie. I should perhaps pause my reflection here because, as a lone female traveller, some people may find the thought of arriving at a busy local pub slightly daunting. In reality, it felt exactly what a local pub should feel like, welcoming, friendly and completely unpretentious. By golly, we need to hang on to places like this. Dan, the manager, finished serving one of his customers before checking me in personally and showing me to my room, which was a nice touch. My room was called Cow. Somehow, even though The Bald wasn’t with me, it felt like he was! The room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay: a king-size bed, television, tea/coffee."
