Visit Villa Tugendhat to discover a marvelous example of the functionalist architecture movement that hit Brno during the 1920s. 5. Mikulov Castle
See the towers and spires of Mikulov Chateau (Zámek Mikulov) punctuating the skyline of the town of Mikulov like a castle from a fairy-tale movie. This Baroque masterpiece and former governor’s palace dates back to the mid-13th century. The noble Dietrichstein family took control in the 1500s. The structure was later refurbished following World War II bomb damage. Today Mikulov Castle is home to the Regional Museum of Mikulov.
