It's Spartel lighthouse of Tangier, a major city in northern Morocco. It is the capital of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region and of the Tangier-Assilah prefecture of Morocco.

Chefchaouen's powder blue buildings mirror the cloudless Moroccan sky - but religious rather than stylistic reasons are behind the design choice. The walls are adorned with carpets, purses, blankets, paintings and much more. It was quite an adventure to get lost in the tiny lanes and alleys and discover the many berber shops and products.

A highlight of my trip to Morocco was a visit to the "blue city" of Chefchaouen, with its endlessly charming and overwhelmingly photographic blue streets. This particular location calls for significant patience as you wait for a steady stream of tourists to have their photo snapped on this picture perfect staircase, complete with tiny napping orange kittens.

The town of Chefchaouen, Morocco, sits at the foot of the Rif Mountains and draws tourists from around the world to wander through its charming and quiet blue streets. It's earned a reputation for being one of the prettiest towns in the country and you would really miss out on something special if Chefcahouen is not on your Morocco itinerary.
