"The accommodation was disappointment. Not only did I find that there was an addition £12.50 to pay for parking at the property, which was not specified in the booking. The property is clearly advertised as having doors that open from the lounge to the outside sea front. "We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"The Imperial Hotel was excellent in every way, the sea views were spot on. The staff were brilliant. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were very good. The only let down for me was not having Air Conditioning in the bedrooms, I did manage to source a pedestal fan, but without that I don't think I could have managed to shave or sleep. But otherwise The Imperial Hotel is highly recommended for anyone."

"The hotel was excellent - a modern hotel with excellent furnishings. Housekeeping went out of their way to help. The serving staff were personable and helpful but the service at meal times was slow because there was not enough staff. Down side was the poor control of parking (cost £15 per night) and I witnessed one customer very irate because his car was blocked in. If the hotel charges to park a car, they are duty bound to control the parking - cars were parked outside of marked bays and the bays were too tight for modern cars and parking was consequently very difficult. Overall the impression was that the facility was excellent but some staff were still "bedding in" and kitchen/dining room processes need reviewing. The breakfast was busy and customers were milling around and people were carrying jugs of boiling water...this lack of control is an accident waiting to happen."

"Hotel facilities 3 swimming pools, jacuzzi sauna were excellent poolside restaurant and bar was perfect for refreshments and nice food. A massive games room with full size snooker tables and ten pin bowling plus loads of video machines. Room was basic but clean and quite warm on a sunny day but small fan helped in room. Hotel room corridors were dated, creaky floorboards needing of a bit of paint. Breakfast was very nice good variety of fruits,cerials and full English breakfast toast and coffee and juice. Overall 1 night stay was excellent and will be going back again"
