Izu
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (14 reviews)
"What an incredible stay for us. First time to a ryokan (i.e., traditional Japanese inn w/ onsen). What an experience! Hotel is somewhat confusing to navigate, but that is part of the adventure. The public onsen was incredible (note: they swap the male and female sides, so pay ATTENTION!). The room we stayed in was "traditional" in that we had five futons atop tatami. Haven't selpt that well in a long time! The in-room onsen was a bit old school (basically a deep tub), but still oh so magical....

Shimoda Tokyu Hotel

8/10 Good
"Nice hotel , lovely staff ! A little bit out of the centre and the shuttle only runs 9-5 , the pool was not in use when I was there which was a bit disappointing as it was why I choose this hotel instead of more central hotels"
