![Old Manor House site, Topcliffe Known as Manor Hills or Cock Lodge, this is the site of a medieval manor house belonging to the Percys. The view shows the outer ditch and bank in the foreground with the inner ditch [moat] and bank beyond. The conical mound was the site of a windmill. The manor is thought to have been erected in the 13th century and was described as 'ruinous' in a survey of the estate in 1577. Hampton by Hilton York Piccadilly
Room was lovely and clean, bed could have been comfier. Building works outside the room at 7am wasnt a good touch when i was away for a night to chill. Breakfast was nice with a lovely view
