Room was cosy and good size. However we didn’t have a great nights sleep as every hour or so a noisy fan or boiler kicked in somewhere near which woke us up. Windows quite thin too so noisy from outside. Good facilities, room had a few areas which needed cleaning (big stain on wall, very dusty bathroom extractor fan) but good location and absolutely lovely staff, just shame we didn’t manage to get a good sleep.

I love the location, right in the heart if the city.Access to shops and food great. Only thing for me was it was a bit noisy as my room was just above the pub.

Our stay
Everything was fine. I think that the room had been freshly decorated. Good electric shower. Comfortable bed. A few toiletries some of which we did not use. WiFi was not very strong.

Fairly standard pub rooms, staff excellent, good food. Had to leave window open as it was very hot and problems with pub customers smoking outside.

Totnes Christmas Shopping
We had a lovely stay at this hotel, the young man behind the bar was very helpful, even looked after our baggage on our checkout date so that we could continue our Christmas shopping! I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

Friendly place right in the heart of town. Clean and tidy, good shower and range of toiletries. Rooms are a bit plain though, and bathroom smellt a bit of damp. Also note that as the rooms are above the outside drinking area of the pub, it is a bit noisy.

Central location and short walk to anywhere in Totnes. More of a pub than a hotel there was no breakfast but lots of places to buy breakfast nearby. Friendly staff a good point but very tired bathroom not so good.

We was looking forward to our stay at the king William in Totnes, unfortunately it was very dissapointing. The room was tired and dirty but worst of all there was a gathering on the high street right outside the room with several speakers on microphone until midnight. I suppose if your going to spend the night upstairs in a busy town centre pub you have to accept your not going to get a peaceful night!

Great location and friendly staff. Unfortunately the electrics kept failing, which meant the shower and toilet were also out for use in the morning.

The staff were incredibly friendly. We had an issue with our radiator not working and they were up to sort it out within 5 minutes.

Lovely old pub.
Lovely old pub in centre of Totnes. We had a lovely semi circular room which great apart from the traffic noise. However we enjoyed our 1 night stay and the staff where all great and very obliging. Nice touch being given half price breakfast vouchers which was very good.

No parking. Short term car park 200 m away made it difficult taking luggage to accommodation. It is in a very good area for shops bars and restaurants.

There was no parking for the car, after travelling over 300 miles, we had to walk a long way in the rain after parking in an overnight car park. Breakfast was from 10:00am and we had to be out of the room by 10:30am. The shower & toilet room was very, very small. It was very noisy from 4:00am in the morning. The only good thing was, the bed was comfortable.

Great place to stay right in the heart of Totnes. Our room was lovely and bright with big windows. Good food available downstairs and helpful, friendly service from the landlord Jake and his staff.

I liked this B & B because it was right on Totnes High Street and it was very safe, convenient and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was v comfortable.There was tea/coffee (with a kettle) and a television, as well as a good bathroom. I am not sure what the arrangements were for breakfast, as I left early (8am) but it would be best to check, the night before.

Lovely staff, beautiful meal. Room was very comfortable and the ensuite had a bath which was appreciated after a cold day. Room mainly very neat and clean. Just a few minor points - bathroom fan dirty and one of the spare pillows was stained. Overall a very comfortable stay with great service for the price. I would stay there again.

Nice pub, shame about the accomodation
No towels in our room, this was sorted by the bar manager, also plenty of coffee but no tea bags. Bathroom desperate for an update and re decoration, no towel rail just screw holes in the wall. Four hangers in the wardrobe for two people !! Daughter had to contact manager during the night due to noise from the room next to her's. Breakfast not included but available at sister pub down the road, the food there was good, but I feel a voucher issued by The King William towards the cost would be a nice touch.

Exceptional hospitality in a beautiful location
Spent a night here midway through a trip from the US through to see Dartmoor Park. The room has a tub with a shower head, making it more manageable for my older mother. The bartender/innkeep was so hospitable, willing to carry our bags up and very prompt with requests (even odd ones like “can I have some plain bread for my mum”). The shower heating unit was a bit grumpy with us (maybe American user issues?), but otherwise the room was lovely in a very pretty town, so happy to have plotted a stop and booked a room here.

Extremely Disappointing!
The room was tired and the bed had a very soft, quite uncomfortable mattress on it. The bathroom was terrible. The toilet was broken and moved when using it. The shower was old and unclean and the floor of the shower felt soft under foot and was creaked. There was no where to hang towels apart from to broken screws ha going out of the wall, no doubt where a towel rack once was ! The mirror in the bathroom was so low I had to bend my head to use it. The carpet In the bedroom had not been vacuumed well and probably not at all for a long time! I asked to have the use of an iron and ironing board twice, was told it would be organised but nothing ever came. I travel for work and stay in many different cities and counties around the world and would say that it was my worst experience in a hotel. I would never stay in the King William again.
