"Every one was very helpful ,especially front desk person Rini. She went out of her way to make us comfortable. At one point, late in the evening and she was limping with pain in her legs, yet she helped us out with some advice about next day our trip. Rini was ever smiling and extra-oridinarily helpful. Next tome if at all we visit Lihue, we will stay at at this hotel, only because Rini was just too good. God bless Rini."

"Great location. Very easy to get to shops and food places. Pool and beach area were nice. Room was decent for the price. Lava restaurant was not the best in terms of food - overpriced. Overall would recommend."

"We had a ground level room the was very convenient for walking to the pool and the general area. Was very surprised and pleased to have a washer and dryer in the room because this was the last place we were staying on the trip and was nice to have a refresh! The pool was like a water park, I have never seen anything like that at a resort!"

"We stayed 7 nights at The Royal Sonesta in the one bedroom ocean view suite. It was incredible! The room was huge and had such great views of the beach. The desk staff was friendly and the service staff kept the rooms very clean. I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta!"

"Grounds were meticulously maintained. The buildings and our room were well kept but it’s an older property so things are showing their age here and there. Pools were great but here is an insider tip. The pool by the beach is busy with a lot of kids and the bar is there. If you want to chill the pool over by the building with reception desk is much quieter with hardly any kids We had an ocean view room and it was spectacular. Lava was typical bar. It could use some updates. Rumfire onsite restaurant was fire. Great dinner there butterfish and lamb chop combo."
