"Big rooms, kind staff"

"Fantastic location on the lakefront! Wonderful café with outdoor seating, offering a truly amazing selection of authentic Swedish pastries, cookies and cakes. The breakfast buffet was one of the most spectacular we have ever seen in Sweden during the past 25+ years, served in an ancient hall with arches and beautiful windows. And the free parking was right outside the door to our hotel building! FIVE STARS!!"

"Very nice older hotel in the centre of historic Eksjö. We booked for three adults in one room and got an extra bed that was too hard to sleep on. Unless you like very hard beds, we advice you to check and ask for extra mattress to the extra bed. Besides that, we had a very good stay!"

Hotellet erbjuder ett riktigt bra gym – ett av de bästa jag stött på när det kommer till hotellgym, dessutom helt gratis! Padelbanorna var också ett stort plus, perfekt både för träning och nöje. Personalen var otroligt trevlig, hjälpsam och gjorde att man kände sig välkommen direkt. Rekommenderar verkligen det här stället till alla som vill kombinera avkoppling med träning. "This felt like staying in a friend’s farm house. What a neat way to take a break road tripping through Sweden! The house is spacious, plenty of games, pool table and places to roam after being in a car all day. Coffee and tea with all the fixins are readily available. Sit and read or chat with the other quests. We really enjoyed this unique lodging experience."

"The main building of the Gyllene Uttern looks like a Scandinavian castle. Perched high above Lake Vättern, it has a grand view of the lake, whether from a large terrace, one of its several lounging spaces, a glassed-in dining room, or from rooms facing the lake. It also has a baronial dining room, in which the very good breakfast buffet is laid out. We dined there in the evening, as well, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed comfortable suites overlooking the lake. The one disadvantage is that the old, castle-like hotel does not have an elevator, which made carrying up luggage a challenge, especially as we three couples were of ages 60 to 82. There was no indication of staff to assist with the luggage, which is the reason I gave "Staff & Service" 4 stars instead of 5. It has two newer two-story auxiliary buildings, which do have elevators. We have stayed in these before. The rooms are very comfortable, but not as charming as staying in a pseudo castle. "

"Booked to go to an expo near by, the hotel was one of the few affordable options. Booking two triple rooms for 4 of us and then requested sheets and cleaning, which were extra costs paid locally. The entry information needs to be requested in advance, but there was a member of staff at reception when we arrived. Friendly place, rooms basic- we had a TV in ours, toilet and then shared shower. Bed weren’t thr most comfortable and sheets were very starchy, but cant complain for the price. Breakfast was also available. Limited parking in the street, payable 9-6, either at the machine with a card, or via an app. No issues during the stay, limited facilities in Huskvarna, with one hotel or restaurants as the only options for an evening drink. would happily stay again if the price was good.
