"On the plus side, hostel rooms are well maintained and more spacious than you might expect. On the downside, when I visited there were issues with room allocation, and key cards not working, so I had to change room a couple of times."

"The hotel is very new, so everything works, and is clean. The rooms are tiny but well laid-out and organized. The floor is hard, no carpet. This is very good. No smell, no stains. The beds were comfortable. There was no noise, we slept really well. The breakfast is magnificent and plentiful. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, a particular shout-out to Maria F., who was really kind to us at check-in and check-out. Location is great."

"Although a great location and good value for money I was bitterly disappointed at the ibis London City hotel. The reception staff on the night shifts were extremely unprofessional, chaotic and quite rude. Hema particularly was exceptionally rude. The staff gave my colleague a key to my room which was totally unacceptable for any hotel to do and my colleague walked into my room late at night. Fortunately it was a colleague of mine and not a random person but extremely poor. The night security manager was also extremely unprofessional and made you feel uncomfortable coming into the hotel any time they were working in reception. Extremely poor level of service! "

"Nice hotel, quirky and interesting. Unfortunately my lock on my door didn't work and required someone to let me back into my room every time I left. Additionally, the breakfast was not great."

"The concept and design of the boat were great. However the elevator service was highly problematic. During our 3 night stay one of the two elevators was out of order the entire time. On one day, for several hours, the other elevator was out of order. During that several hour period guests had to walk up or down 3 or 4 flights of stairs. Surprisingly at reception, as people were checking out with suitcases, no offer was made to carry down luggage for guests. The food at breakfast was not warm enough. The lids to pots were heavy and there was no place to rest the lids while scooping out food. Food quality was fair."

"The room was a bit smaller than the image let on, the air conditioning wasn't as strong as stated by the staff so some nights were warmer than others and the air conditioning only goes to 18C at the lowest and 23C at the highest. However, service was ready when needed. Room stayed cleaned. They need smaller wash rags the ones provided were essentially just towels along with larger towels. The breakfast was not really that great it was more so smaller options. Overall this location was good enough for just having a place to rest and keep your things. Other than that I wouldn't recommend it or visit again. It stays true to its minimalist tone. However, there's minimalist and just unreasonably cramped. The basement has a weird odor as well not sure if it was mold or some sewage was broken but you smelled it after leaving for a while. The staff was kind but not all too accommodating nice people though. The location of it being on Old street was a great plus other than the visit itself. "
