The welcome was great from the lady that served me. They first gave me the wrong room but she immediately corrected it. The room was spacious and pleasant. The toilet area could use a little work. The cleaning staff are amazing but no english. The beach was always clean. Men worked very hard to clear away the seaweed from overnight. Some staff at the beach are pleasant but some have more of "guard" presentation and not friendly. The food is not exactly my cup of tea. A little blah for what you pay for. The breakfast was the same thing everyday and not great and no meat. Basic scrambled egg, some sort of tortilla chips and sauce, toast, flat dry pancakes, cut fruit and boxes of cereal. Basic coffee and tea. Overall for the location its far from anything else on the strip. Highly recommend transportation. The road to the hotel is very dark in comparison to farther down where all the restaurants and shopping are located. On the plus side its peaceful.

The pool was a simple hole in the floor with dirty, sandy, foamy, moldy water. I saved up for this vacation and the pictures shown, were definitely false advertising. I WANT A FULL REFUND. The comforter on the bed smelled dirty with a mixture of old lady perfume. It was disgusting to imagen someone else's sweat was still on that comforter. The lounge chairs kn the beach are rotting feel almost unsafe, like they are about to collapse when you lean on them, they wooden painted white, but peeling everywhere, the cushions are filthy. Very disappointing. I emailed them directly and didnt even respond, no apology nor acknowledging my email whatsoever. Thank you in advance for responding to my email and reuest. I have pictures if you need them. My email me and i will attach pictures.

The hotel room was nice but the air conditioner leaked into the room creating a musty odor. The property is awesome. Several restaurants and bars to choose from. If you walk on the road be careful, heavy traffic with very little room for pedestrians. The beach was some of the best that Mexico has to offer.

Worst experience ever… they have misrepresented the property on their Instagram and my stay was less than ideal… they refused to honor the credit I was offered cause I literally had to leave … I’m so dissapointed, it’s not what it use to be and is run down and needs a complete revamp… just do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

My girlfriend and I were there for her birthday and just needed to get away and we did just that! The property was beautiful, and the ease of access to the beach was better than any other hotel by a long shot The few things we did not like about the room were the beds. The sheets and comforters were great but the bed was as solid as a rock. We were greatly disappointed by this. We were there for 8 days and on the 3rd day it was really getting to us. We had the most expensive room so I doubt the others are any better The second was the bathroom. After no less than 5 minutes into your shower the area would be flooded due to poor drainage and the fact that there were no mats, only the hard slick rock to walk on made for a very easy slip/ fall hazard, which could easily end your vacation. The water that was used for the shower and for the sink to rinse your face or use for brushing your teeth was extremely salty. This is my first time in another country and so close to the beach, so I’m not sure if this is how the rest of the hotels there are but highly doubtful The third thing, false advertising! The pictures online of our room showed it to be two stories. This was not the case. Online they had a mixture of both top and bottom rooms for one listing, this was very misleading and wrong on their part All in all outside of those few things me and my girlfriend would definitely stay here again. The staff, the service, and the food was amazing. Fix the beds, we are coming back!

Enjoyed my stay. Not much to complain about. The water was salty but not salt water. Still clean. Annoying thing was that the temperature was not consistent but that happens in many hotels. No refrigerator, but A/C worked well. Not many towels, only two bath towels and one hand towel, but you get two beach towels too. The breakfast was good and you can enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Highlight of my day! You live right at the beach and can hear the ocean from your room. Absolutely lovely! No noise from the surrounding clubs. The area is jungle style, and with the bath being slightly open there was one bug on the wall when we arrived, but not a big deal. Overall, really enjoyed the stay and would do it again. Great jungle style luxury for a cheap rate.

Great property, friendly staff but if you don’t drive/rent a car the taxis are so overpriced more expensive than New York same goes for the food. Compared to Mexico City it’s much more expensive There is not much to do in the neighborhood it’s not really walkable, you can walk down the beach there are plenty bars and restaurants (expensive and food is ok ) but the beach is amazing. I traveled alone I felt safe

Sadly, Coco Tulum did not meet our expectations. Despite the marketing and social media, it’s not luxury accommodation. The rooms are tired, with broken appliances and furniture, stained bedding and towels and rundown buildings. I imagine 10 years ago it was much better, but now the whole place needs refurbishment.

So there is a serious issue with this property. There is a day club that is next door, it plays music at extreme loud levels. All day and all night. I didn’t get to sleep at all. I tried 3 times to speak with the manager. He told me the local police will not do anything about the noise. Admitting they have a known problem but continue to book people in the rooms. This to me fraud. They would not refund my money for my stay, and the front desk worker refused to give me his name. I am actively seeking a refund and dispute with Expedia, the hotel, and my credit card company. If you have any expectation of sleeping find some where else to stay. The music blasted all day and all night.

The staff (specifically Leo at the front desk) made our stay very special. The property is in a very cool beach location convenient for walkable restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend staying at Coco Tulum to anyone.

Coco Tulum exceeded my expectations. FOOD Coco Tulum delivered perhaps the best ceviche I’ve ever tasted and I have dined on the Peruvian version so this is saying a lot!! The Tostadas Pulpo y Altuna were out of this world. A thrill & delight for the taste buds. My mouth is watering just thinking back to the lunches here on the beach. 5 Stars! DRINK Your morning coffee will help you live without your Italian espresso machine back home. It’s good. But the alcohol mixed drinks are grossly overpriced and leave a lot to be desired. You are much better off bringing your own white wine or tequila bottles to the beach and tipping the bartender for an ice bucket. 2 Stars! ROOM I had the best room imo, room 47. It’s perfect with a clear view of the Caribbean Sea. It’s amazing. Also, the room is cleaned very well each day with enough towels provided and agua potable. There’s a concha for your sink faucet. The whole vibe is awesome and is so Tulum. The door locks need to be updated and the safe is a wooden box with a lock so that could be better. You are showering with salt water. But I loved the room layout my girl & I were so happy. 4 Stars! SERVICE Everyone at Coco Tulum is happy to be there. From the security to the front desk to the servers. But our American appliances a steamer & blow dryer were destroyed simply by plugging them in. The staff didn’t respond to or fix this issue so beware. CROWD It’s a mix of beautiful people from the states, Euro & Latinos

The hotel is located in the hotel zone, and is within walking distance to all the restaurants, boutiques and shops. It’s by the ocean and you sleep while listening to the ocean. However, room condition was terrible. It smelled like sewage/urine all the time. It was very annoying. The towels were so dirty that we didn’t even touched them and used paper towels instead! The beach club was nice but depressing compared to neighbor hotels. The property is not gated and is open access to everyone from the beach and the street. Safe in the room was technically a wooden box with a very basic padlock!! Nothing happened to us but we were concerned about safety! In general, I do not recommend this property. I would suggest you spend a little more and stay at the nicer hotels in the area.

The location and staff were excellent. We had a room (rm 47) with a private bathroom on the second floor with a great view. The AC worked well. Cons: The shower and sink water are saltwater so we never felt clean. The shower didn’t drain quick enough causing a mini flood each time we showered. When the drain finally does empty, there’s a sewer smell that fills the room. They advise you to not flush your toilet paper and use the trash can. It’s nasty. The bed was hard. Like, one step above camping on the ground hard. At the end of the week we were both tired and sore from rolling over so much. No tv, no room service, and the included breakfast was basic. Tulum is very nice with several boutique hotels and shops. Unfortunately we had several fraudulent charges on each of our credit cards from the restaurants, shops and taxi employees. Everywhere we went we had to double and triple check if we were being charged properly. AND our neighbor was robbed by the local police! So that should tell you to be careful and pay attention.

The cabanas are great. The usual beach bar was closed all week. No reply for room service. My friend got sick from uncooked chicken. Would have been nice to know the beachbar was closed.
