"Our experience at this Holiday Inn was mixed and unfortunately frustrating in several areas.
We arrived at the hotel around 2:00 PM for a 3:00 PM check-in and asked if an early check-in might be possible. The front desk staff explained they only had four housekeepers working, so early check-ins were not available. While I understand staffing challenges, it set the tone for a stay that felt a bit disorganized.
Once we got to the room, we noticed several issues. The window shade was broken, but to their credit, maintenance responded quickly and fixed it after we requested help. However, the comforter on the bed was stained, which was concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. Additionally, when we checked the closet, we found someone else’s jacket still hanging inside, which made it seem like the room had not been thoroughly inspected between guests.
When we checked in, I specifically asked for a late checkout at 12:00 PM, and the front desk employee said that would be fine and that she would note it in the system.
The next morning around 10:00 AM, I called the front desk to ask about our room charges and mentioned our late checkout. The employee then told me her manager said they were not allowing any late checkouts at all. I explained that we were told it was approved when we checked in, but it turned into back-and-forth confusion. In the end, we were told we still needed to leave at the regular checkout time.
