"What a great stay. Kevin and Maria were very attentive, warm, and hospitable. This was our first night in UK after a long flight and felt like home. The accommodations were very nice and the king room was so cozy. The bed slept great and had everything we needed. The breakfast was first class but also made us feel like we were staying with family! Thanks for the great stay."

"Great little guest house with stunning views.
Of Ullswater. We used the guest house as visiting the Inn on the Lake which is literally just across the road.
Spotless room and super friendly staff 👍"

"This is a 5 star BnB, set in beautiful gardens and farming land, very quiet (except for the occasional RAF trainer jets during the day) and elegantly appointed. Close enough to town but away from the madding crowd!
Of our 4 weeks travel thus far, this has been the standout."

"Beautiful setting, really looks the same as the pictures. However, we felt that the look of the place was more important to the hotel, than how it worked. There were used cotton buds on the floor in the hotel room and the bathroom. Our 8 year olds bed was a fold out camp bed. When we tried to put the air conditioning on, it didn’t work, we later found a pice of paper in the room saying it wasn’t in use. It was a very hot day. The sheets were very starchy and noisy every time you move. Plug sockets for charging only on one side of the bed. The hotel carpets are pretty grubby. No children in the pool from 7pm, didn’t learn that until check in. No changing rooms in the swimming pool: it was like school. Then men’s didn’t even have private shower cubicles. We waited 5 mins before anyone came to seat us and 2 other groups for breakfast at 08.10, we were taken to a table but not given any instructions: do we order at the counter or the table. Waited about 3 mins at the bar to het some water while 4 staff came, went and had a chat.
The check in, pool and housekeeping staff were all very professional and helpful. The breakfast was ok: eggs Royale: the breakfast muffin was so tough you couldn’t cut it, gave up on the end and just ate the eggs and salmon. Don’t get me wrong, we had a great time, but I would have expected more from this type of hotel. We’ve been on a 10 day trip to 7 different hotels and they all did much better: even the older, more dated ones."
"This is such a stunning hotel.
It’s our 3rd time staying and we can’t wait to come back.
We’re both vegan and I’m GF and the food is fantastic.
They also have noseco which was fab.
We absolutely love the spa so the facilities really do give it that extra edge."
"Rooms could do with updating.Could have done without a car alarm going of several times early in the morning (I know this was not the hotels fault).Breakfast was OK nothing special if you like a buffet breakfast. We had a iron but no ironing board had to borrow from our daughters room next door she had a ironing board but no iron (Yes I've not made that up)"
"The hotel is very dated. The staff Janet and Lexi, very helpful. The spa, staff absolutely useless to busy listening to music on ear buds at reception when people were waiting for towels. The male changing rooms absolutely filthy, with broken locker doors and filthy blue mats.we arrived on time and Janet was very welcoming, the room 402. Had no toilet roll, no robes or shoes.and the tea and coffee box was empty.Thankfully Lexi on reception in the evening have us some milk and tea.the restaurant evening food was amazing the pie and mashed potatoes cooked to perfection. And the waiter polish guy was brilliant who clearly had passion for his job.The breakfast staff we're not so good they couldn't cope we waited 20 minutes for fried eggs when they did arrive they were overcooked and piled up 6 deep in the bain marie.the room was ok but was clearly not cleaned properly before our arrival.like I said no robes and no hair dryer Lexi to the rescue again ! The room carpet was filthy with a black patch of dirt.I would like to thank Janet and Lexi for helping to resolve the issues. But the management needs to do a risk assessment of the spa changing room.I wouldn't stay again but would recommend the restaurant food for a evening meal!"
"We liked the space that the apartment had and the location of the property. The apartment was very quiet and had all the amenities we needed including the kitchen area. We also liked the garden at the back of the property. We will book again when we come back to Ulverston."
"We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point.
Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well.
Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting.
The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated.
Definitely recommend 10/10"
