"Highly recommend El MaPi. Logistically convenient, a very easy walk from train station, and close to the bus station heading up Machu Pichu. Hotel has an earthy/ nature oriented feel, very relaxing. Staff are very friendly, extremely helpful. Room was nice, clean, seemed fairly new/ updated. Restaurant was very good for both dinner and breakfast, fun bar for after dinner. I didn’t visit the spa, but am sure it was great too."

"We stayed 1 night after Machu. It’s a solid little hotel. Excellent location and nice room. The view outside the window was of the Fortress! Very cool! There was complementary water bottles, a hot pot and various teas in the room, which was nice. My sheets were crisp and clean but my daughter said hers were not? The beds were very comfortable. We slept with the window open and it was perfect weather. The water situation was interesting. We had to put the knobs in a precise alignment for the water to turn off completely and there was NO WATER for part of the day. The manager said it would be back on at 5:00. It seems like it’s a common occurrence. It worked out fine because we were gone from the room and it was back on when we returned. The breakfast was the usual fair. The bread everywhere in Peru is amazing. The cook made an omelette with onions at our request and it was fantastic! They were kind enough to store our luggage. Overall good experience."

"The room is well located close to train station and bus stop to reach Machu Picchu. Close to restaurants and bars, without the inconvenience of loud noise until late at night. We really liked the bed, the number of available plugs in the room, the consistent hot water and water pressure when showering (really not granted in Peru). The room was very clean. The stuff very friendly and knowledgeable. The only real improvement would be breakfast, little variety and no real savoury options. It would have been nice to have eggs and some meaty options, moreover considering that visiting Machu Picchu involves long days with extensive walking. We would stay again in the future!"
