DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown
10/10 Excellent
"This was the perfect place to stay while we were in town to see the Detroit Red Wings play the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena. We parked overnight at US Steel Tower Garage (44 Bigelow Ave), which was right across from the hotel, and then could easily walk to the hotel from there. We then walked 5 mins to the arena to see the game.
The hotel was quiet and very clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. It was a nice stay and the suite we stayed was a great place to hang out for the evening. We did not get breakfast or dinner but there is a restaurant on site.
I highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again. "
"Shower curtain ripped and a wasp nest in the window that we asked the staff to take care of - they didn’t. Beyond that…..a great hotel. Will stay there again. "
"The room was very clean and smelled nice. The property itself is beautiful. We were lucky and had a river view. We were just visiting so we didn’t go to the casino. It’s a short walk from food options and the river walk trail. My husband was disappointed by the room service options. We would absolutely stay here again though and would recommend this place. "
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pittsburgh West - Greentree by IHG
6/10 Okay
"The room was great, breakfast was as expected, everything was clean and well stocked. Check-in took awhile. The front-desk lady seemed a little frazzled and appeared to to be struggling with the computer system, but eventually we got our keycards. Holiday Inn Express is our favorite one-night hotel to stay at when we are on road trips due to consistent experience and good value."
"Hotel front desk and valet were professional and friendly. I ordered a takeout burger from the rooftop restaurant, and it was delicious, done just right, five stars! Our room was immaculately clean and compactly comfortable. We were on the first floor so heard traffic a bit but it wasn’t too bad. (May have seen ghost shapes in the room in the wee hours, but felt nothing to worry about, fell right back to sleep. What did this building used to be?)"
"We loved the layout of the room. Kitchen was useful. Rugs, couch and mattress were stained but rest of room clean. Furniture worn. All normal wear and tear. Sadie was SOOO helpful and rest of staff really nice."
