"This property is nestled inside its own private jungle. It's a very large, well kept property, with the rooms/cottages spread around so you have a good deal of privacy. There are only 20 rooms so it's not very busy and you often find yourself alone enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. They offer complimentary espresso machines, yoga mats, bicycles, paddle boards, and Kayaks. The pool is 24/7 and there are plenty of hikes nearby. They also offer tons of activities that you pay for separately. The restaurant having incredible food was a major plus including a giant woodfire pizza oven (didn't come to Belize for Pizza but not going to say I didn't enjoy it). I recommend picking up some fruit and hiking snacks on the way because they don't have any stores nearby. Each room has it's own filtered water machine. "

"It was great. The waterfalls on site are stunning. The views from the restaurant are amazing and the staff was great. They were always friendly and attentive. The only complaint is that it needs some sort of AC for during the day. Fans weren't enough to keep the room cool in the hot season. Other times of the year I'm sure it's perfect. I'd still highly recommend it."

"The perfect place to stay in San Ignacio! You can easily walk to the main streets of town, and it's only a short drive to places like Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. The staff was wonderful, and our room was a crisp, air-conditioned oasis after being out in the sunshine! Our room had a balcony, but there's also a nice shaded sitting area by the bar. Although we felt pretty safe anyways, they do have security after 8pm, which made us feel even better. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, and I would definitely stay here again if I revisit San Ignacio. "

"We really enjoyed our stay under the canopy. The pool was gorgeous & the food was amazing. We enjoyed the lazy river & proximity to Xunantunich. The road into the resort is rough, so be prepared for 5 miles of dirt/gravel at the end. We arrived at night, which I don’t recommend."

"We enjoyed our stay at Mariposa, the tone was set the moment we arrived. We checked in late and I went to go run in to give our information, our server Robby insured that he needed to greet us properly and asked all our guests to come in for a welcome drink which we thoroughly enjoyed, the kitchen was also waiting on to offer us dinner before they went home for the evening. We stayed in blue morpho which was close to the pool and bar. There was accessible parking. Staff was accompanying to all our needs whether it was supplying us with a cooler or packing us breakfast to go for our excursion. Please keep in mind you are in the JUNGLE, there are bugs, they are hard to avoid and they will be in your room no matter how nice. Please watch for ticks, two members of our party got ticks from the hammock. There is jungle noise all night, yelling weasels, curious monkeys. Enjoy these rare moments you may never get to witness again. The property had more amenities we weren’t able to take advantage of such as the bird tower but I recommend you do if time allows. Property is very close to mountain pine ridge park. San Ignacio town is approximately 20 minutes away so I recommend a car if you plan on visiting town. My only complaint is that 2/4 days we noticed housekeeping left our door unlocked after leaving. "
