Artisan Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Exceptional property.
The photos look good but don't do it justice.
Spotlessly clean.
Comfy beds & pillows, soft fluffy towels.
Well equipped kitchen lacking nothing. Often 6 berth properties have 6 of everything, for example here there were 12 mugs so not constantly washing up. Cafetiere and tea pots in two sizes.
Little extras like sewing kit, tool kit and first aid kit appreciated.

"This is the 5th time we’ve stayed here in a year. Excellent stay, we were a little early for check in, however we had been sent the check in details earlier, so we entered the building to see if the room was ready, I was greeted at our room by a staff member/owner, he was putting the heating on in all the rooms because it was so cold - very thoughtful touch. He even helped us upstairs with our bags. Couldn’t fault the service.
We stayed for 3 nights - the only thing I would of loved was a few more kitchen accessories/appliances so we could cook properly. However it didn’t ruin our stay and we will definitely be back.
Thanks for another great stay! "
"Guest house not finished; hard to find, not expected, room not cleaned - had to flush toilet on arrival and carpet still had builders dust. Flooring not complete, missing bits by toilet and sink. Door frame not finished painting. Television mounted behind bed head so can't be watched in bed - didn't work anyway as it was not connected to anything. Toilet seat was not fixed properly. Hand basin was small and, instead of a mirror above it, there was a bathroom cabinet that prevented anyone leaning over the basin to wash face or brush teeth. No bedside light. Nowhere to hang clothes. Bare wire sticking out from wall by light switch (not power cable thank goodness). Smoke detector and heat detectors fitted but heat detector still had cover over it. It could be good but should never have been on market in this state."
"The hotel was well located to the centre of town and the main railway station.
The staff were excellent and very accommodation with baggage storage and a room change we had to make.
Unfortunately one of their guests on Jan 20th smoked Marijuana and the ground stairs lobby and lift stank of the smoke.
Shame because of this i could only give them 3 stars."
