"Great bed: clean and comfortable. However property feels very tired (e.g carpets in communal spaces stained), pool out of order and breakfast had run out of milk and all served on/with disposable plates/cutlery. If you need a basic stop go ahead and do it - but only if cheap, and measure your expectations."

"Hamtramck Hostel despite the lower stars was a pretty good experience. It was a little further from downtown than I wanted it to be so you had to drive a bit to see the city. The surrounding area was much like the rest of Detroit; eclectic in some places, and rundown in others. I feel the vibe was good at the Hostel itself. There were some very kind hearted people. I liked some of the conversations we had. I enjoyed the idea of the shared space. I liked having access to the kitchen and laundry...

"I came in late and weekend I was checking in the clerk had problems checking me in. After driving ten hours and having to be up early every minute counted for me. It took about 45 minutes for him to check me in. Keep in mind I had everything paid for in advance before my arrival. I lost a valuable hour of sleep that took a toll on my next day events. "

Spacious Detroit Suite: Close to Dtwn & Med Center
2/10 Terrible
"They cancelled my stay abruptly 2 days prior to my arrival. I emailed them and never heard anything back. Called them and was placed on hold for an hour. I’m sure they double booked but it was really unfortunate to have to deal with the consequences of their mistake."
Glamorous Green Beauty in the Heart of University District 15min to Downtown
8/10 Good
"The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful, and the home was pretty comfortable (it’s an older home, but well-kept). As the home is older, we had some plumbing issues but the host was prompt in calling a handyman to have the toilet fixed. It’s important to note that there is only 1 full bathroom in the home and 1 half-bath. Would have been helpful see that listed in the description, as we were 2 families sharing the home."
Gather Around the Mid-century Table at a Tranquil Haven
8/10 Good
"The place was really charming and just right for our stay. The property management Co and host made the check-in process very easy and convenient. The neighborhood was rich is history and the home itself is part of its story. The beautiful Italian style Catholic school really made everything so beautiful and it was fascinating learning how the rental property once belonged to the sisters of the parish.
Cons: the bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan and the window did not appear operational. We didn’t want to try too hard to open it because they were original to the home (100 years old). Second, the window blinds in bedroom 1 don’t block any light and at 6:15 every morning the whole room was bright as day. I definitely recommend a sleep mask if light wakes you up. "
