The staff comes to knock on your room to ask if it needs cleaning even if you put the do not disturb message on your door. They woke us up twice for the same reason. The breakfast is cheap and the rooms are very small, even the corridors to move around. Overall, I didn't really enjoy my stay at the hotel.

Me and my girlfriend visited Malta for the first time over half-term and stayed at the San Karlu for three nights. The hotel was lovely, with nice rooms and a delicious breakfast. The pool was also lovely to visit, with the rooftop bar a bonus! The only feedback we'd give is that the pool could do with being heated, especially for when the sun goes down, and also the railings around the pool could do with glass or perspex layer to block out the wind - it can get a little chilly on the roof! Otherwise a lovely stay and we'll be back again!

Overall, it was a great stay. However, the area within a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel felt a bit quiet and secluded, with quite a few vacant houses around. It’s worth being a little cautious when coming and going.

The property was spotless. Breakfast was good. The location was within walking distance too many attractions and to the ferry. The only drawback about Valletta was the walking up and downstairs. But that had nothing to do with the property. I would stay there again. There were lots of great restaurants and nightlife very close to the hotel. But the hotel was extremely quiet.

We had a lovely stay and had the room with the hot tub. This was great as it was too cold for a swim. Room is large and comfy bed slight smell from drain in bathroom so left the extractor fan on. We had a lovely stay at San Karlu in Valletta. The hotel is tucked down a charming alleyway in a traditional building, which adds to the charm. Everything was super clean and well looked after. Our room was a great size for a few nights – comfy bed, good aircon, and plenty of hanging space. The rooftop pool was a real highlight — the perfect way to unwind after exploring the beautiful streets of Valletta and the Three Cities. The only downside was the breakfast — a bit limited and cramped, but honestly, for the price point, you can’t expect everything. There are plenty of fantastic cafés nearby for a proper coffee and pastry fix. The location is quiet at night but within easy walking distance to all the action for dinner and drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Overall, a fantastic little hotel at a great value. We’d definitely come back!

The property is very nice and great accommodating staff. The breakfast was good quality and plentiful. Our stay in April would not allow the cooling to work as the whole system is set to heating until it becomes “cooling season” not sure what that is but our first room was 25 degrees and didn’t get below 23 even with the window fully open

This hotel was perfect, it’s in an ideal location to get to most of the bars, restaurants as well as the tourist attractions! The hotel was clean, very modern and the room was very spacious, very clean and very well presented, we loved the little touches such as the robes, slippers and the little hamper of stuff you may need such as a vanity kit and moisturiser. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating, friendly and happy to help every second of the day! The pool was a perfect edition, it was very clean and the area around it was always presentable! The rooftop bar staff were amazing! The bar Itself served both food and snacks, with the staff bringing them over to where you were located! If there weren’t any towels available upon entering the pool deck, the staff were happy to help and radio down for some to be brought up, they then brought them over to you at your sun lounger or table! All in all, we couldn’t pick any faults with this hotel! It was perfect for us! Thank you for a lovely stay.

We checked in and were given a room early but it was in an inner courtyard and it was a bit claustrophobic. So, we asked for another room and went out for lunch. We came back and the hotel gave us the best room in the hotel with a large outside patio with the only jacuzzi tub in the hotel. After a long day of walking around Valletta it was nice to soak our tired bodies in the hot tub. We spent an enjoyable 3 nights at the hotel!

Outstanding staff!! All very attentive to our needs would it be for the breakfast, providing directions or advice. Breakfast was very good and they even offered a bag when we departed early at check out. Superb location; close to many restaurants and amenities and historical places. Be aware that the AC or heat is centrally controlled and if you book a room with a garden view, there is limited air circulation so the room might be a bit humid. Aside from that, immaculate room and staff. We recommend!
