"The property is beautiful and the owners are so nice. It is very remote area, so only one option for dining. You can cook I. Your kitchenette, but we were not prepared for the hotel being so far away from the nearest store or restaurant. Plan ahead. Shop on your way there or co tact owners ahead of time to see about arranging for meals. "
"So welcoming, friendly - they just made everything easy. Great vibes with a beautiful space and attentive staff, but still felt relaxed and authentic and not sterile like a resort. Beautiful grounds, and small, so very peaceful and private. There is great snorkelling right across the road if you go at high tide."
"Loved my week long stay at Taveuni. I decided on this place for the grounds, accessibility to the ocean, and opportunity to interact with others. The plantation grounds were lovely. Rooms are variable - I recommend Bure 112 (upgraded) or 5. Haven’t seen many others. The restaurant was reliable - big meals in the evenings. Great omelet and pancakes. Try the road for the best roti, papaya and plantains or a fish meal for $1.50-$5 US. Kava and songs in the evenings.
Lovely ladies in staff will help you with everything you need. Fins and snorkel, towel rental. Shower out back for late flight departures. Nice pool.
Central location. Excursions with Pete, Mateo and Batman car were great. Walking distance to a couple food places, airport and two small markets, and beautiful evening sunsets (Tramonte)/sunrises. "
"We changed our plans at the last minute and happened to come across Sau Bay on Google Maps. It looked like a great spot for a resort, so we decided to give it a try.
After our stay, my girlfriend and I found it incredibly difficult to leave. We absolutely loved this place and didn’t have a single complaint. The resort itself is beautiful, and staying there was an absolute pleasure. It’s a small, intimate retreat, accommodating only about 16 guests, which made for a peaceful and personal experience.
The staff were, without a doubt, the highlight of our visit. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, treating us better than at any other resort we’ve been to. From the warm welcome, with them singing on the beach as we arrived, to the delicious food and drinks prepared daily, every detail was top-notch. The dive masters were also outstanding, making our experience exploring the Rainbow Reef even more unforgettable.
I can’t wait to return and explore more of Sau Bay. I’ll definitely be back!"
"The Bures are private and large, beds very comfortable. The setting and grounds are beautiful, their Staff works EXTREMEMLY HARD EVERYDAY. Everyone smiled all the time and service was perfect everyday ! Food is Chef Quality Liza, the Chef was excellent with her selections everyday. The Bar was perfect and service as well. The diving is the best I have seen in the world for soft coral, the White wall was extremely impressive. All the dives sites are healthy, Lui our divemaster was excellent. Hal who runs the Dive Operation was on point everyday. Can't say enough about the whole staff. My only suggestion is for the Owners to pay their Staff more, they proved to us they definately deserve it !! I've been diving the whole World for 32 years as a Dive Master, Tavenui Dive Resort ranks up there as one of the very best !!"
