"The unit was nice. But the driveway from reception to the road to the unit was terrible. We got a flat tire from it."

"PLUSES: Surroundings are gorgeous and lots of trails and things to do; full of birds for Birders, and various other animals. The staff was (mostly) professional, knowledgable and friendly. The grounds and rooms are very clean. The included breakfast is quite tasty with a variety of options. CONCERNS: The property is isolated, as it is 40 mins w/ no traffic or road issues to La Fortuna and other activities outside the property. Some may love this. Dinners were more of a 3/5. Something I overlooked is that there is no air-conditioning, though this is on me for not realizing. During the warmer "dry" season we would have preferred air-conditioning. PS: For all of the Arenal area (not just the Observatory) if driving from the West (say from Tamarindo beach area), once you hit Lake Arenal, it's about a 1 and 1/2 hour drive to the Observatory, and 2 hours+ to La Fortuna, and this is with no road issues and little traffic."

"We didn’t stay long enough to enjoy the property. But it was a nice place. I didn’t like how far parking was from the property, and that my luggage had to roll through rocks."

"Property is located just outside of the square in La Fortuna and gives “white lotus vibes”. We did go in their off season but felt like we had the property to ourselves. Loved being able to message on WhatsApp and immediately get a response. Breakfast each morning was great! Would recommend! "

The property grounds are beautiful and the restaurant patio is to die for. Not spending every single morning sipping coffee from that restaurant patio would be a mistake. "La comida de los restaurantes con reserva excelente pero el bufet deja mucho que desear ya que los platos no están bien elaborados y con poco sabor. La atención del personal excelente, fue lo mejor, siempre amables y atentos. Al menos en mi habitación habían una cantidad muy grande de mosquitos (mate al menos 30 - 40), otros insectos pequeños y hasta una pequeña cucaracha. El baño no olía bien, y la puerta del baño deja pasar toda el agua cuanto uno se baña por lo que hay que secar todo el piso luego."

"Splurged for a nice hotel for a few days in La fortuna. This place was wonderful. Great location a few minutes out of town but still restaurants and things to do nearby. This is a beautiful property with lots of wildlife and a peaceful river you can walk down to. You can see the volcano clearly from the pool and front area. Feel more like a resort than a hotel. The staff was very attentive and they all remembered my name. Great breakfast as well, I would stay here again and will recommend it to friends. "
