Visit a traditional Italian gelateria or relax in a wine bar. Take a guided or audio tour of the Museum of the Italian Mint. Via XX Settembre is only a short walk from the famous Piazza Della Repubblica semi-circular plaza.

Discover four late-Renaissance fountains at the southwest end of Via XX Settembre. Dating back to the 16th century, these fountains are known as the Quattro Fontane. Find the Porta Pia at the other end of the street. Michelangelo, the famous Italian painter, sculptor and architect, designed this impressive gate of the Aurelian Walls.

Find the Historical Museum of the Bersaglieri, a military museum dedicated to the Italian riflemen. See historic documents and a collection of military memorabilia. This museum features preserved paintings, photographs and military artifacts from significant campaigns, including the War of Independence and World War II.

The church of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane is considered a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Visit this 17th-century Roman Catholic church at the southwest end of Via XX Settembre. Notice the ornate concave-convex façade and the imposing columns.

Not far from Via XX Settembre is the Quirinal Palace, home to stunning artworks and historical artifacts. Walk through the palace’s immaculate gardens and admire the palm trees and vast array of plant life. The Quirinal Palace features many ornately decorated rooms, including the Great Hall of Corazzieri and the Pauline Chapel.

Disembark the metro at the Barberini or Repubblica - Teatro dell'Opera stations and take a short walk to Via XX Settembre. Find suitable accommodation among the many hotels surrounding the street.
