Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati

"We had a lovely stay at Pallazo Dalla Rosa Prati. The property itself is very old, so the apartments do feel dated. It has apparently been owned by the same family for 1000 (?) years, and the history of the building is really interesting. As long as you do not mind the "dated" feel, there are only positives. The location was incredible - you walk directly out onto a Palazzo with an incredible Cathedral, and museums. The Palazzo itself (and hotel) was quiet, but around the corner there are fantastic restaurants, stores, cafes, and Gelaterias. You can easily stroll around Parma, or visit nearby towns/cities of Modena and Bolognia. The Staff at the guesthouse were very friendly and helpful. There was parking just around the corner in a gated secure parking lot for 24 euro per night. We had a really wonderful stay, and will definitely return in the future. Tip: Before you arrive, ask the hotel to explain how to navigate the Limited Traffic Zones (ZTL) so that you avoid getting a fine. They were very helpful and communicated how to easily get to the hotel once we got to Parma."

"The hotel itself looks nice, and I normally never write reviews, but unfortunately this experience was bad enough that I felt I should. The lady working in the breakfast area was wonderful — very kind and helpful. However, the experience at reception was the complete opposite. When we checked in, we were offered breakfast. Since we thought we wanted to explore the town early, we declined. We were specifically told that if we changed our mind later, we could let reception know because paying directly in the breakfast room would cost more. The next day, we changed our mind and went to reception to add breakfast, but the receptionist was extremely rude and simply said, “No, I can’t do that.” No explanation, no effort to help, nothing. We ended up going to the breakfast area and paying extra. I understand policies exist, but there is a way to speak to guests and treat people. The hotel should pay more attention to the staff they hire for reception because customer service matters, especially in hospitality. Very disappointing experience."

"The staff at this hotel was absolutely amazing! They were so accomodating and very attentive to the needs of their guests. The breakfast had a great variety of options, I don't eat pork and there were ample alternatives for me to eat. My room was very clean from beginning to end with daily housekeeping services. The staff on the cleaning team do an excellent job, they're very thorough, which I greatly appreciated. I did not have a car while visiting Parma, but there is ample parking in front of the hotel so there's plenty of room for guests that do wish to bring or rent a car. One note, it is advertised that there are bikes on the property that can be rented by guests, this is not a service the hotel offers anymore and I do wish that would have been communicated because this service being offered was a large part of why I picked this hotel. Bikes can be rented through RideMovi and this is very convenient but it is an additional expense and this hotel is about 10 mins via car from the city center. The closest RideMovi to the hotel is about 20 mins (walking distance) away so that was a drawback to staying here. But overall, I had a great experience and strongly recommend this hotel to those visiting Parma!"
