"Late night pickup from train station after no cabs available. 10 Euro
Late night pasta carbonara after restaurant closed. Excellent chef. Great wine selection
Owner operated, very kind and accommodating.
Stowed our bags after checkout to accommodate touring around town."
"Ok for the price and a simple place to sleep after a late arrival but floor was very dirty and dusty with obvious crumbs etc around the edges.
Mezzanine steps to kids beds really steep, ok for older kids but not safe for younger ones. There is a gate at top though"
"Funmi (the receptionist) was very friendly and helpful.
I cannot commend her highly enough.
The hotel was centrally located wh I ch allowed us to drive to various locations very easily."
"We had a very good 2 night stay at Le Grand Hôtel de l'Espérance in Lisieux.
The room was basic but very clean and practical. They still provided a kettle and tea and coffee. A mini fridge would have been nice though. The bathroom had shower only but it had a good amount of storage space.
We had one dinner in their restaurant which was good and good value for money. The service was good and efficient, even though the restaurant was full and only one person serving.
The breakfast was excellent. They had 2 Camembert style cheeses, Emmental, spicy sausages as the hot option, hard boiled eggs, good quality cold cooked ham, good grilled ham, yoghurt, croissants, 2 types of homemade cake, fruit salad, and one of the best apple pies we have ever eaten. The selection was constantly replenished.
The people at the reception very friendly and professional. If we were to visit Lisieux again, we would stay there again."
