Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives, The Centara Collection
5/5 Excellent
"Our holiday was nothing short of amazing! The rooms were comfortable, with AC and a mini fridge replenished daily. Housekeeping was impeccable, and stepping outside led directly to the beach. Safety was a priority, with life jackets for the whole family.
Snorkelling, paddleboarding, and kayaking were available at the Best Dive kiosk, with helpful and knowledgeable staff. We took a sunset boat tour and saw hundreds of dolphins—truly unforgettable! Joe and Alex made scuba diving an excellent experience, guiding my husband step by step.
Beyond the sea and infinity pool, there was plenty to do: a well-equipped gym, tennis court, and a games room with pool, darts, ping pong, PlayStation, and air hockey. The spa was the perfect place to unwind—Pin’s full-body massage was bliss! The island shop stocked essentials like sunglasses and sunscreen.
To keep mosquitoes at bay, the island was sprayed daily, though bringing insect repellent is wise. Dining was spectacular, with three restaurants: The Reef (buffet), Mare Azzurro (Italian, booking needed), and Suan Buan (Thai, booking needed). The staff were outstanding—Kal ensured my son got his burger, and May, June, Vivek, Sunny, and Habib provided top-notch service.
Refreshing drinks by the pool added to the experience—Siva and Ajith made dreamy caipirinhas and perfect milkshakes! The kids' club was a hit, with creative and sporty activities led by Yummi and Naba. Our time here was unforgettable, and we can't wait to return!"

"The only reason I did not give an overall excellent for this property is the food. Breakfast and lunch were excellent but sometimes the dinners were less than great. There was no choice only what was cooked on the night. Also it could be because as a westerner I am used to only the best boneless cuts of meat, but on occasion the meat was inedible due to bones and gristle. A shame because the flavours were very good and the staff were excellent. For future reference a description of the food would be useful. If I was to return to this venue I would probably only eat vegetarian. The island itself was quite small (not a criticism) and easy to walk around, the people were quite friendly. Overall I would say this property fit in the backpackers / divers niche. As I was not looking for the usual Maldives experience this was an advantage for me. The only issue as far as the accommodation was concerned is that my bed linens did not appear to be changed the whole 2 weeks I was there, but I could be mistaken if the sheets were washed then put back on the same day. The private beach at the property was wonderful and very private - I had it all to myself for my whole visit. Didn’t worry me that I had to be covered from neck to knee for religious reasons but would not recommend swimming in your beach cover up. The public beach at the other end of the island (10 / 15 minutes walk) did not look all that well kept so I only went for a look once and then stayed on my private beach."

"Our stay at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island was nothing short of amazing. We stayed in a beach villa that offered the perfect blend of privacy, comfort, and direct access to the pristine shoreline—waking up to the sound of the waves was pure magic.
Dining at Vilu Restaurant and Sunset Grill was a highlight—both offered incredible food, beautiful views, and impeccable service. The team across the resort truly made us feel welcome and taken care of throughout our stay.
We enjoyed a great mix of relaxation and adventure. The snorkeling and sunset fishing excursions were memorable, and we had a blast with the watersports—especially kayaking, paddleboarding, and jet skiing. The spa was a serene haven; an experience that left us feeling completely refreshed.
This trip was the perfect escape, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Conrad Maldives to anyone seeking luxury, tranquility, and top-notch hospitality in a breathtaking setting."

"This was our trip to the Maldives and our first time at Lily's. Traveling during the low season helped us avoid the crowds and high prices. The Sunset water villa, which comes with a personal butler, is highly recommended. Our butler, Mussey, took care of all our needs. While our stay wasn't perfect, Mussey resolved all issues efficiently and swiftly. Despite being one of the older properties in the Maldives, Lily's maintains its rooms and grounds very well. With over six decades combined in the hospitality industry, my wife and I can be quite critical about accommodations and service standards. We'll return to collect our special memories scattered throughout the resort and island."
