It is a wonderful experience, old west era hotel with friendly service. Rooms well equipped with the basics, bed could have been larger.

Amazing rare treat! Not too many authentic antique style accommodations still exist. I will be telling anyone I know who is planning a trip to this part of Montana to stay here. Super cute rooms and the second floor covered balcony is a great place to watch the sunset. I enjoyed the front sitting parlor as well.

What a charming and rustic property! My friends and I (4 adults) really enjoyed our stay in Virginia City at The Fairweather Inn! The proprietors were adorable and friendly as could be! I would definitely recommend a night (or two) at The Fairweather Inn.

You have to love history
Desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Very historic hotel with antique furniture. Charming. BUT most rooms have no a/c. Rooms are very small with no TV. Only some have their own bathroom. Stairs going up to second floor are scary. Very nice balcony on second floor for people watching. Bed comfy.

Nice historical visit
Historical environment which was fun. Had two rooms. One with bathroom and one with a shared bath. Paid in advance making check in easy. Bed was a little hard for me. No curtain on bathroom window. Air conditioner main (window unit) may need some maintenance - cold air was limited. Overall, I liked the place and recommend.

Awesome historic hotel. Staff was amazing. Clean, safe and right in the center of activities in Virginia City. Although we did not experience a ghost it was fun staying there.

This hotel is a great balance between modern conveniences (like a hot shower) and period décor throughout. The upstairs front porch is perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning and all of the staff were welcoming.

Definitely cozy. Very clean. Remember you are staying in n historic property from the Old West times. You will feel transported back into the past, except for a moderately weak Wifi connection. The water in the shower and sink gets VERY hot so plan accordingly. But it is plentiful and the shower is nice and strong. Bring your own shampoo as the one dispenser in the shower seems to be body soap. I did use it for shampoo one time, but I only stayed two nights. Surrounded by antiques, and the receptionist has lots of stories if you have the time. Well worth taking the time. Don’t visit Virginia City if you are in a rush. You will cheat yourself. I’m sure there are a few friendly drunken cowboy ghosts wandering the halls but I I never saw one! Well worth the money as long as you have the right frame of mind and the proper amount of time to truly appreciate this gem. I’ve other point - remember this is historic and so are the staircases- if you have any difficulty with stairs get a main floor room!

The one room I stayed in (Room 15) had a window AC unit. The unit blew ambient air for 2 days. When I asked the staff to take a look at it, the gentleman at the front desk said it was working fine. Needless to say, it was still blowing ambient air that night, again. I requested a box fan but still had another miserable hot night of sleep.

Ended up getting a cabin in Nevada City a mile down the road instead of staying in the hotel in Virginia City. The cabin was very cute and we had parking right outside.

The property was very nice. I felt like I was in an old town. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Just wish we did not have to get up early and leave. Would have loved to explored the town more!
