"Stayed in 2 different rooms on 2 different nights and your experience will vary based on where your room is in the lodge.
The only complaint we had is that the people above us on the second night were walking around at 4:30 in the morning and the walls and floors are so thin that it will wake you up and make it impossible to fall back asleep if you’re a light sleeper.
The location itself is great and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. But at the end of the day you’re looking for a place to sleep.
So if you get woken up and can’t fall back asleep because people are not being respectful of others that early in the morning, then it will make for a not so fun day after."
"The property was beautiful and staff were wonderful. I loved the easy proximity to the Stowe path and it’s on one of the most scenic river sections. The room was spacious and bed extremely comfortable. We stayed on the first floor and had access to outside which we loved as it accommodated our busy in and out schedule. The breakfast was fantastic and was a fabulous start to our day! I would have rated a 5 but there were two downfallls 1. The hot tub was milky so did not use but we honestly usually don’t but the second and biggest issue was that having someone in the room above sounded like herd of elephants every evening and morning and I’m a light sleeper and on vacation found I was woke up every morning at 6 and the noise above was so annoying that I was now subjected to following someone else’s early morning rise times or their bedtime. Such a shame since the room was newly renovated and so warm and welcoming as was everything else about this property."
"The room was very clean and the mattress was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious! The innkeeper's restaurant recommendations for dinners were spot on. All in all, a wonderful stay. Would definitely choose this property again."
"Frank was a great host and nothing was too much to ask of him. Great breakfast and Frank was always around for helpful advice. Great character to the inn with each room having its own charm and nice gardens and patio. Fantastic location in a great village in beautiful countryside."
