"Fantastic property with everything you'd need, or thought you didn't need.... great hosts who were eager to make sure we'd settled in and had everything we needed or any help with suggestions for sight seeing (although great information book supplied). We were new to the area but found the location perfect as a base for exploring near and far. over a few days..plenty to do on your doorstep with shops and eateries with-in Melrose if you don't fancy cooking. "This was a beautiful hotel! It is a historic building so it has it’s quirks but it was neat to stay here! The staff was friendly and this one included the free breakfast. The only thing I would caution is the room was a long way through a maze of stairs and corridors so if you brought múltiple suitcases and have a car then plan ahead and only take what you will need and be wearing the next day in your smaller case otherwise this place was fantastic! I think they may have offered to help with the bags - if you have all your bags, take them up on that! This one is also the only one we stayed at on our two week trip where parking wasn’t a challenge - they have a large lot! "
