"Lovely hotel . I arrived before noon , so I left my bag .They checked and said my room would be ready by 2pm and I could check in and go to my room then . no fuss despite 3 pm official checkin Well appointed and very central"

"Stayed here for two nights. Friendly staff on arrival - dispensing ice lollies on a very hot afternoon. Room ok but very hot - only two of the windows opened and even then not very far. Fan simply stirred hot air around. Plenty of water provided and tea-making replenished on request. Decent biscuits too. Big disadvantage is that the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals is in separate building 100 yards away up a hill. Need umbrella if it is raining. Had one dinner in there - food ok but service disorganised and slow. Breakfast disappointing - continental selection ok but hot food left under heat lamps far too long. Rubber fried eggs and inedible scrambled eggs. Nice walk down to Rutland Water - lots of birdlife to see."

"Modern, clean and comfortable hotel located next to a convenient Marston's pub. Reception desk is inside the pub, a quick word with the bar staff and someone came to check me in so no issues as reported in other reviews. Air con in room was a major bonus as stayed on a very hot day. Meals in the pub (dinner and optional breakfast) were excellent."
